Free Agency officially begins on Friday 1st February and ends on Thursday 28th February.

The draft is tentatively scheduled to begin on Saturday 2nd March and end on Sunday 3rd March - although this is still to be confirmed.

This thread is for each GM to:

  • Name their Franchise player (if any)
  • Tag any RFA's
  • Declare any pre-FA trades (of which I'm sure there will be many!). For the record, future picks can be traded.....but it's a little pointless!

Remember, we are using Walter Football (click on off-season needs for each team) to determine Free Agents. The top FIVE Free Agents from each team will be entered into the Free Agency pool. Everyone else on the list you keep by default (unless you want to cut/trade them).

Please note - there is no cap benefit for cutting or trading players! Each team starts with $25 in salary cap room.

Here is how the two tags will work:

Restricted Free Agent – I propose we have two tags:

  1. $5 for a 1st round tender
  2. $3 for a 3rd round tender.

If a team exceeds the host team's offer then they are awarded the player (the host team only has to match). However, they forfeit the relevant draft pick. Please note - if the bidding team does not have a relevant draft pick then they cannot be awarded the player!

Franchise Tag - Contrary to the original thread, the franchise tag will come out of the $25 salary limit. Going off last year's figures, here are the franchise tag values by position:

  • QB - $14
  • RB - $7
  • WR - $9
  • TE - $5
  • OL - $9
  • DE - $10
  • DT - $7
  • LB - $8
  • CB - $10
  • S - $6
  • K/P - $2

To the best of your ability, please keep trade discussions restricted to email - otherwise these threads will explode in comments and be unwieldy. The GM email addresses can be found in the original thread here.
