Every mock draft I read has the Panthers taking a DT with their first round selection. While I do agree that is definitely a position a need, I believe DT is not what we should use our first round pick on.

I feel potentially the best player available at pick 14 will be Chance Warmack, Guard from Alabama. He has been labeled as the most sought after guard in the last decade. Better than David DeCastro last year. He is an excellent run blocker and could help spark our running game next season.

Hangartner played well when he wasn't injured but at 30 years old and his salary doubling over the next 2 years. I wouldn't be surprised if Piggy gets cut. According to Spotrac, his salary for 2013 is 1,575,000 and 2014 2,450,000. That is a lot for ultimately a backup at best.

Amini played decent depsite looking lost several times throughout the season. But that is to be expected with a starting rookie. I feel he will continue to grow. He could potentially make a switch to RG with Chance Warmack more comfortable at LG.

The 2013 draft is loaded with lots of talent at DT. I feel as though we would be fine to wait until round 2 to get them. Let me know what you think. This is my first post.
