Hello fellow Panther fans, hopefully there are still some left. I'm not a big person to say much on here but I usually view the comment and posts, etc. I have been a Panther fan for a long while since about 2002, but needless to say I'm not doing a bio on myself. Just wanted to say something about what I saw last night being that it was the very first time I've been to a Panthers game.
I saw many different things that intrigued me and yet there was a lot that disgusted me as well. After I parked I saw the stadium i view and there was nothing less than excitement filling the air. My twin brother, 15 yr. old bro, and another friend we were just in amazement at all the people who were coming out and everything. I was pleased to see so many fans coming to support the Panthers or at least I thought so, but I'm gonna mention the rest after the jump. When we took our seats I marveled at the beauty of the BofA Stadium, all the lights and fans pouring in and the warm ups, pre game march in, I never saw this stuff outside of TV. This was all new to me as to how fans operate to help support the Panthers and one guy next to me help me get that spark of being and avid go crazy always rooting and yell for the Panthers success type of fan. So as the game started up the Panthers had already allowed the Giants close to a touch down and I noticed on 3rd down all the fans started to get up and yell and scream to help build the momentum for the defense. It was nice but the touchdown was deflating, and then came some Giants fans coming in late to their seats and of course here came the trash talk.
There was something that seemed to happen simultaneously at that time, the self destruction of the Panthers and the Panther fans. When the offense got out there the fans were quiet, well at least where I was, there was no push from the offensive side on the teams part and fans part. Of course there was some noise going on from me and others out there but it wasn't enough. Those Giants fans ridiculed the Panthers all night, and the same seemed to be with the Giants defense as well. The Giants just came in Charlotte and owned us in fan support and game play as well. As the game went on the Giants and fans seemed to know that the win was belonging to them already especially with a 22-0 lead at the half and one thing I notice at half time was the number of fans that just kinda knew that it was over.
I was still trusting and believe that the game wasn't over and that we still had a chance, which we did. Well needless to say I was still doing my part, yelling and rooting and even encouraged some other Panthers fans to believe and trust in the Panthers to do something which they did score a touchdown in the 3rd quarter and I was saying "see just hold on for 60 mins. because you never know what can happen" . Although the touchdown was encouraging, the INT's and fumble were even more disheartening and then came the falling out of the fans with the team ordeal. You could even see on the field that the Panthers themselves seemed to give up a little. I was yelling still "its not over yet!" but others still poured out of the stadium and it became the Giants stadium. There seemed to be more Red and Blue than Black and Blue. I was just ultimately disappointed in the support and team because we truly got owned throughout everything. Not saying that the game was hinging on fan support but if it was there a little more maybe that one spark would have came, Im not sure. It was a very sad sight but I believe that Carolina can put it back together so those who can be at all the home games and what not do your best through the whole game not just when they are doing good and so the same should be for the team. As for me I will be still rooting and yelling just at my TV......
