The Panthers waived Defensive tackle Terrell McClain and picked up Dwan Edwards from the Buffalo Bills.
This IS a curious move. Edwards was listed as a Defensive TACKLE, but spent the last two seasons with the Bills as a starting defensive END. This season he was expected to be battling for a backup spot since the Bills switched to a 4-3 lineup. He hardly fits the RivERA doctrine at age 31; leading to the possible conclusion that BAMF was less than pleased with run defense.
Edwards was scheduled to make $4.1 mil this season. I’m not sure how he impacts the Panther’s cap figure.
Edwards and Edwards could significantly improve the center of the line.
Any suggestions for a name?
