Panthers Predicted Offense - First From the Swamp

Good Sunday afternoon Panther fanatics. Is everyone wearing red today in support of a Cardinals thrashing of the Saints?

As I count down the hours to the first live action, albeit pointless, NFL matchup of 2012 I wanted to take a shot at something I've seen done alot but have never tried myself; rosterbation I believe it's called.

Based off of the numerous live reports from CSR's finest, Twitter updates from the media and any interviews and videos I can find this is my opinion of who we'll see (dare I say it Kalil?) leading us to the Super Bowl.

I'll start with the Offense. If I don't get totally raked over the coals I'll move on to the defense.

Quarterback:

Cam Newton (Starter, Pro Bowler, Icon and Entertainer)

Derek Anderson (2nd String, Totally Serial)

Armanti Edwards (Emergency 3rd String, 7th WR, backup PR) great camp showing, too much potential to part with...this year.

Left Tackle:

Jordan Gross (Starter, Pro Bowler, veteran Leader of the OL)

Bruce Campbell (2nd String, survivor of brain surgery and the Evil Dead franchise, freak of nature measurables)

Left Guard

Amini Silatolu (Starter, Rookie w/ a Mean Streak, Nickname "Meanie")

Roger Allen (Some game experience as a Taint, knee issues)

Center

Ryan Kalil (Starter, Pro Bowler, Clairvoyent)

Geoff Hangartner (Backup Center, Starter at RG, Nickname "Piggy")

Right Guard

Geoff Hangartner (Starter, 2nd Panther tour of duty, does the dirty work to keep Cam's jersey clean)

Mike Pollack (Former 2nd rounder, former starter at RG for the Colts)

Right Tackle

Byron Bell (Starter, Claim to Fame: UDFA who made a 1st Round Pick expendable, lay's a mean carpet)

Garry Williams (It's pronounced Gary, not Gar-ee)

Running Back

Deangelo Williams (Starter, Pro Bowler, one half of Double Trouble, averages over 5 YPC)

Jonathan Stewart (Starter, other half of Double Trouble, sick forearm, bionic toe)

Fullback

Mike Tolbert (Starter, aka Lunch Box, aka Vending Machine, aka Tol Booth, sick dance moves and possible Sproles type player)

Richie Brockel (Backup Fullback, 3rd TE, key component in one of the coolest plays in Panthers history)

Tight End

Greg Olsen (Starter, former 1st round pick from Chicago, developing great chemistry with Cam Newton)

Ben Hartsock (2nd String, Servicable)

Richie Brockel (Backup Fullback, 3rd TE, key component in one of the coolest plays in Panthers history)

Wide Receiver

Steve Smith (WR1, Pro Bowler, future Hall of Famer, future Ring of Honor Member, responsible for the retiring of the # 89, per pound/inch the toughest player currently in the NFL, best Panther in history period.)

Brandon Lafell (WR2, solid rookie and sophmore season, great camp, due for a break out year)

Louis Murphy (great rapport with Cam Newton, solid rookie and sophmore season, fast)

David Gettis (solid rookie season, running full speed again, looking to solidify spot, burner pre-injury)

Kealoha Pilares (KR, camp standout per RR, fantasy sleeper per Smitty, trending #1 at CSR for three weeks now)

Joe Adams (Won't see field much as WR, will be a special teams ace)

Armanti Edwards (7th WR, emergency 3rd String QB backup PR) great camp showing, too much potential to part with...this year.

That's right, Clausen gets traded and Armanti gets one more shot. This is his make or break year and he seems to be aware showing up in camp like man posessed. Barnidge has come into camp playing like he's already lost his spot, not a good thing to do playing for Rivera. Keep in mind Rivera was hot under the collar last week at Hogan and Norman for not playing through hammy and swelling issues. Many thought Barnidge had a shot, sadly we may not ever know.
