Carolina Panthers v. New York Jets– Injury Update

At this stage we know the big players the Panthers will be missing tonight vs. New York– Steve Smith will sit out as a precaution, still recovering from his foot infection. Many fans seem to be getting extremely worried about Smith, as he left BoA Stadium Friday on crutches yet again, but I'm sure most of us know that it takes time for antibiotics to kill an infection. Still having a few weeks before the start of the season I'm not concerned at all.

When it comes to Jon Beason, admittedly I'm a little worried. He'll miss his third preseason came tonight with a hamstring injury, and while the organization have openly talked about the need to show caution, and move Beast along slowly, it is getting slightly worrisome. What is encouraging is that Thomas Davis will play tonight, who by extension reflects on Beason's injury– both of whom have been handled with kid gloves thus far, and with Davis playing tonight we should feel a little better about Beast getting back on the field soon.
