It just struck me as I was watching Russell Wilson tear up the Cardinals. That I wrote a mock draft and had the Panthers drafting Wilson in the 5th. (Obviously taken way before then but still). I remember a few people saying they would not want us drafting Russell Wilson.
Anyways, now Russel Wilson will be lining up against the Panthers this season and more than likely for years to come and the thought of it actually scares me a little because his potential is really big. Also being in the same conference is not a good thing either, because if Pete Carrol starts to get really good pieces to go around him at receiver. Then the Seahawks are gonna be a scary team in the future, that could stand in the way of the Panthers come the playoffs. But could even quite possibly become a scary team this season. They have a solid defense, a defense that also forces a lot of turnovers and a good rushing game (also depends how long Lynch is suspended if he gets suspended.)
From the very moment the Seahawks drafted Wilson I looked at my buddies, I was with watching the draft and said if they are smart they will start him day one. As it looks like they will, I also applaud them for drafting him sooner than anyone really expected (because of his height). Because now the Seahawks are a sleeper team to me and I believe they will contend with the 49ers in the NFC West. But I believe it would have to take asurprise loss or two of the 49ers and the Seahawks stealing a win when the 49ers come to their house. But Wild card looks like a very high possibility and I can see them making a run even with a rookie at QB.
So just like to wrap up saying to the people who questioned me about Russell Wilson, that I told you so :).
Edit: (Forgot to write this in) This post is inspired by PT’s crazy and fast to assume/judge posts. While part of it is true the "I told you so" is suppose to be me pulling a PT. I just wanted to write something about Russell Wilson because I admire the guy and while I do not like NC State, he secretly had me pulling for them though while he played at State.
