2012 Carolina Panthers "Rise" Trailer

As many of you here know, I have been making little promo videos for the Panthers upcoming season using the "Dark Knight Rises" theme song. The theme in that movie is a chant, in which the words "Deshi Basara" being chanted translate into the word "Rise". It's kind of a funny story, but in a way it's also freakishly, creepishly good. The last time the Panthers played the AFC West was in 2008, which ultimately was also the last time a Batman movie was put out in theaters ( "The Dark Knight" ). Yet here we are in 2012, playing the AFC west for the first time since then, with the very next Batman movie ("Dark Knight Rises") out in theaters for the first time since it's last as well. Same title as last time, but with a different outcome at the end..a "Rise", which we failed to do in the playoffs in 08. "Coincidence" is what a lot of you are probably thinking right now, but in my mind, I am thinking destiny. With all of the peices put together (well...almost,), I believe it is truely time for us to "Rise" up, take control of the division (which by the way, hasn't happened since 2008 as well), let the NFL know we are a playoff team, and will contend in the league for years to come.

Maybe I'm getting a little carried away here...but seeing that we went to the Superbowl in 2003 after a 1-15 record in 01, and then a 7-9 record in 2002; it truely just all sounds so familiar (2-14 in '10, 6-10 in '11). Any day, any team, any year...anything can happen in the NFL. That's why I am in love with the game. Unlike the NBA, MLB, etc. teams are always either good, bad or average. It's not the same teams in the playoffs/superbowl every year. If the San Fransisco 49ers can win 13 games a year after losing to the worst team in the NFL (Thanks Pickles, Fox and Davidson!), what makes you think Cam Newton and the high powered Offense and Jon Beason and the healed up Defense wouldn't be able to. It's truely, time to "Rise" and show the league what we are truely made of.
