My Take on the Panthers Final 53

Hello all. After watching the first pre-season game last night, I thought I'd throw my hat in the ring of final roster predictions. I haven't been to any camps or practices, as I live in northern Virginia, so this is based almost purely on what I can gather from this great site. I'll have my final roster prediction as well as some notes after the jump.

QB: Cam Newton, Derek Anderson

RB: DeAngelo Williams, Jonathan Stewart, Tauren Poole

FB: Mike Tolbert

WR: Steve Smith, Brandon LaFell, Louis Murphy, Kealoha Pilares, Joe Adams, Jared Green

LT: Jordan Gross, Bruce Campbell

LG: Amini Silatolu, Jeff Byers

C: Ryan Kalil

RG: Geoff Hangartner, Mike Pollak

RT: Byron Bell, Garry Williams

TE: Greg Olsen, Gary Barnidge, Ben Hartsock

DE: Charles Johnson, Antwan Applewhite

DT: Ron Edwards, Sione Fua

DT: Terrell McClain, Andre Neblett, Frank Kearse

DE: Greg Hardy, Frank Alexander, Thomas Keiser

LB: James Anderson, Thomas Davis

LB: Jon Beason, Jason Phillips

LB: Luke Kuechly, Jordan Senn, Kenny Onatolu

CB: Chris Gamble, Josh Norman

CB: Brandon Hogan, Captain Munnerlyn, Darius Butler

SS: Charles Godfrey, Jordan Pugh

FS: Sherrod Martin, Haruki Nakamura,

LS: J.J. Jansen

K: Justin Medlock

P: Brad Nortman

Jimmy Clausen: Yes, I think he will be cut this year. With some many question on defense, I think they will choose to carry only 2 QBs and use that extra roster spot on the other side of the ball.

Tauren Poole: Had a nice showing last night. I think he will pass Vaughan and sneak on as a 3rd RB.

David Gettis: I like Gettis, but for some reason I feel like he is going to be put on IR again this season. Maybe I'm just having flashbacks of Otah. Make not mistake, though, I hope he comes back and contributes.

Jared Green: No Gettis, opens up the 6th receiver spot. I'm giving the nod here to PT's man Jared Green. From what I've heard he's having a good camp, and I think RR will go with the potential of Green over the know quantity of Seyi Ajirotutu.

Frank Kearse and Thomas Keiser: I think we will carry 5 DT and 5 DE, seeing as D-line is out weakest area on defense.

Justin Medlock: I don't see how RR and co. won't pick the bigger, more reliable leg of Medlock over Mare, especially after the performance Mare put up last year. I think this is Medlock's job to lose.
