A Day at the Trade Mart

Last night's game was bitter-sweet. Like you, I was glad the Panther football season has finally kicked off. Seeing our guys in action, checking out the new talent, seeing the stadium...heck, even the annoying commercials were welcome (although that will fade quickly). I'm very happy to see Keek playing at the level he did. I'm not ready to put him in the HoF just yet, but so far I really like what I see out of him. There were a few other bright spots on defense, despite the 'watered-down' scheme of things b/c it was the 1st preseason game. The offense showed flashes of potency as well and it's great to know that JStew is going to be with us for a while. Overall, I do believe the Panthers will have an 11-5 record at the end of the season and with enough luck we'll make the playoffs. Lots of things need to fall into place in order for these things to happen, and a lack of injuries would be welcome for a change.

One thing that doesn't need to happen (and I mean NEVER) is for Pickles to take the field in a Panthers uniform again. I was excited when he was drafted. I was dissapointed when he played the next year. I was relieved when he didn't have to take the field last year. Now, in 2012, I am curious as to what we could get for him in a trade. After the jump, I am going to post a top 10 list of things we could get for him in a trade and I encourage all of you to add to it if you see fit.

1: If we threw in a 1st round pic, we could probably get Betty White. She has the will and determination to win and would be a welcome addition behind Anderson.

2: Derek Anderson. I know he is already on the roster as the #2 QB, but if we pay him double we would at least have an injured Anderson fill in for Anderson.

3: A few new helmets and pads (Junior Varsity).

4: Tickets to last year's Kenny Loggins concert at UNCW.

5: A DVD/CD rewinder (broken).

6: A signed copy of Marty Hurney's soon-to-be-released book "Things that make me facepalm".

7: A ham sandwich (no mayo).

8: 10 extra years of life from Chud.

9: An extra locker for someone who can contribute to the team.

10: A happy fan base.

As you can see, I do not like Jimmeh as a Panther. He has had plenty of time to adjust and just simply cannot produce anything but despair and unhappiness. I wish him the best wherever he may go, so long as he goes elsewhere. Feel free to add to this list or comment on which of these 10 might be asking too much.
