Forbes made a list of the world's 50 most valuable sports teams. This is the $ value, based on assets owned, ticket and merchandise sales, etc. Manchester United took the top spot with a total worth of $2.23 billion, 19% more than No. 2 Real Madrid. The Yankees and Cowboys come in at 3rd and 4th, with the Panther's lower on the list at 23rd.
Carolina Panther's Value: $1.0 billion
"The Panthers franchise got a shot in the arm last year from quarterback Cam Newton (above), who was the No. 1 overall pick in the 2011 NFL draft out of Auburn. Newton led the Panthers to six wins, four more than in 2010, and had a combined 35 touchdowns rushing and throwing. Newton was nearly a unanimous choice for the Rookie of the Year award."
Honestly, considering this is all sports in the entire world, I'm surprised the small market Carolina Panther's are this high. There are plenty of notable teams behind them. This is largely due to stadium and PSL values, which go to show how successful a business man Mr Richardson is.
