Pat Yasinskas posted today that he will be posting a countdown of who he considers to be the NFC South's top 25 players, one each day over the next few weeks. He started with 45 players on his list, and today's post list the 20 players that didn't make the cut for the final top 25, and it had some surprises. Panthers who didn't make his his cut from 45 down to the top 25 players list are, TE Greg Olsen, LB Luke Kuechly (no rookies made his list), OT Jordan Gross, and his 26th player CB Chris Gamble. With those players off the list, I'd say that only leaves Cam, Smitty, CJ, Kalil, and maybe Beason (if he doesn't discount him because of last season's injury) with shots at the top 25.
ProFootballFocus.com has been posting a "Secret Superstar" for each of the NFL's 32 teams for almost a month now (27 teams), posting their write up on Panthers DE Greg Hardy yesterday (6-15-12), and bd posted it, so I figure no point in waiting any longer to post it (I can just include the last 5 players later in this post). As you look at the list, you'll see that their emphasis is probably a little more upon "Secret" than on "Superstar", so here it is, ...after the jump...
S - T. J. Ward - Browns
CB - Chris Harris - Broncos
LB - D. J. Smith - Packers
DE - Greg Hardy - Panthers
Here are the final 5 "Secret Superstars":
DE - Michael Bennett - Buccaneers
NT - David Carter - Cardinals
CB - Richard Sherman - Seahawks
OLB - Ahmad Brooks - 49ers
DE - William Hayes - Rams
