Panthers Have Now Signed All Draft Picks

Stay connected for news and updates

Hat tip to ALAC for being the first to post this on CSR via fanshot.

Whereas in past years we might get our picks signed slowly over the courser of the summer and then pray none of them hold out, thanks to the new CBA and rookie salary scale we get them all done in short order. Yesterday we heard LB Luke Luechly had been inked. Today

we went ahead and took care of the rest

The Associated Press reports that the Panthers have signed all seven of their draft picks ahead of Friday’s start to the mini-camp.

I am so very happy rookie hold outs are essentially a thing of the past. Now if only we could get Jimmy Clausen a decent haircut.

In a similar post announcing the signing of 2nd round pick OL Amini Silatolu, there was some descriptors in there of Silatolu I had not heard before:

Silatolu has drawn comparisons to Tampa Bay Buccaneers offensive guard Jahri Evans and former Dallas Cowboys offensive lineman Larry Allen.

He's the first player from his school to be invited to the Senior Bowl. However, the mauling blocker injured his hamstring and was sidelined that week.

The former junior college All-American finished second in the voting for the Gene Upshaw award for the top Division II lineman.

The winner of the Upshaw award was Joe Long from Wayne State who actually went undrafted this past draft.
