This year Cam obviously lit it up and converted a lot of doubters. However, he lacked a lot of the attention of the sports media, due to the cancerous sports reporting on Tim Tebow that Skip Bayless promulgated moreso than anyone. I found myself very pissed off at all of this, because it is pretty obvious that Cam is a better thrower and runner than Tim Tebow, so what's the big deal? Even the sports market of Denver is on the same mid-level tier that Carolina is. So although Skip never apologized for his doubting of Cam around the draft and even after he threw for over 800 in his first two games, should we thank him for diverting the attention away from Cam? Cam is a big personality that has to know how good he is. Many people thought he would want out of Carolina ASAP and go off to LA or NY for the bigger market, to become a Lebron James type of media whore. I never really believed that and now that Cam has bought a condo it appears he's here to stay. But what if Cam got all the coverage that Tebow got? Would he realize how much bargaining power he has with the potential future teams?
So I ask you all, should we thank Skip Bayless for focusing on Tebow so much, so that Cam could focus on developing in his rookie year rather than the latest headlines with his name plastered over ESPN.
Or, is Skip Bayless still a douche and we don't owe him anything because he's completely short changing Cam in regards to media coverage?
