Davis used to play safety and he still seems pretty fast when he's healthy. Is it worth the risk to throw him back there? It could open up the linebackers to Beason, Anderson and Kuechly and put a better overall player on the field for every down. I don't think Sherrod Martin is a good choice at starting safety, maybe back up but we obviously lost a few games due solely to big plays. People bitched and moaned about our run defense, but that was because of our injuries. Our big plays happened on our secondary starters that were all in 100% health.
Do you think Thomas Davis (granted that he's healthy) could play Safety?
If so, why should he or shouldn't he?
