Earlier today, the Panthers capped off the UDFA signing period by adding TE Tarren Lloyd from Utah State. In 25 career games for the Aggies, Lloyd had 25 receptions for 280 yards and 4 touchdowns. While those numbers won't wow anyone, it is important to note that he was used almost exclusively as a blocker in Utah State's run heavy offense. He does have respectable speed(4.73) for a man that stands over 6' 6" and weighs 256 lbs. If you can stomach watching a seven minute video that mostly highlights Lloyd's considerable blocking ability, you will also notice that he does a nice job of finding the soft spots in a defense. I don't expect him to make the 53 man roster anytime soon, but I could definitely see him making his way onto the practice squad like Greg Smith did last year. I also included a short video of Lloyd making a nice catch in the back of the end zone against BYU.
