So I need help making a 2nd round pick for the Panthers at #40. Assume we already selected DT Fletcher Cox at #9 and now the top 10 players remaining ont he board are as follows:
DE Nick Perry - Many think he is better suited as a 3-4 OLB but after watching him run the drills at the combine he doesn't looks a little stiff and thick to play OLB. Since he also has his weight up a little, by design I hope, I'm thinking he is more suited as a 4-3 DE but reminds me too much of Everette Brown
DT Brandon Thompson - I like him at this spot but hard to take a double dip at DT
LB Lavonte David - A true WLB David was able to get his weight up over 230 and keep his speed. Many say he's not much bigger than many safeties in the NFL, which is very reminiscent of the path Thomas Davis took.
More candidates and a poll after the jump...
CB Josh Robinson - It's hard to argue the need for a CB across from Chris Gamble. The only question is whether any of those left on the board are woth the #40.
CB Jaron Holsey - Same as Robinson above, Holsey is a little smaller and not quite as fast.
