Stay connected for news and updates

This years salary cap is $120.6 million, and it's reported that the players union had borrow against future salary caps to get it that high. Now John Clayton reports that the 2013 salary cap is only expected to increase by $300.000, and the 2014 cap to only be $121 million.

Here's the bad news for the Panthers. The Panthers already have 42 players under contract for 2013, at a cost of $118 million, against a salary cap number of $120.9 million. In 2014 it gets much worse, with the Panthers having 26 players under contract, at a cost of $117.2 million, against a salary cap number of only $121 million.

Pat Yasinskas reported these numbers today.
