Former NFL Executive Ted Sundquist was just on the NFL Network's "Path to the Draft", and he said by far the best predictor of NFL success for a DT is their 3-cone drill time, because it measures their lateral quickness. He said that's why he doesn't like the idea of the Panthers picking NT Dontari Poe at #9, because his 3-cone drill time (7.90 seconds) is a half second slower than most DT's.
