Panthers Select WR/KR Joe Adams in the 4th Round

Stay connected for news and updates

Being one of the Panthers 30 private visits we knew he was on the Panthers radar and they pulled the trigger right where we thought they might. Adams was mainly drafted to return kicks given he is electric at it. Long term Adams could be a solid slot receiver as well. From Mocking the Draft here is a quick profile:

Joe Adams, Arkansas
Height: 5'10 1/2, Weight: 174 pounds

Strengths: As good of a natural athlete as there is in this year’s wide receiver class. Incredibly elusive. Good hands working through traffic. Could be a star on special teams in the NFL. (See below for his crazy punt return against Tennessee) Compares favorably to Mike Wallace of the Steelers.

Weaknesses: Can easily get jammed at the line of scrimmage. May need to get taught how to run complex routes. Needs to get much stronger. Fumbles have been an issue. Used mostly as an X and a Z receiver, and will likely have to move inside in the NFL.

You can see the punt return mentioned and why he drew our interest...after the jump...

Here's another one. BTW, he returned 4 punts for TDs in 2011

So what do you think of this pick?
