The Seahawks drafted Wisconsin/NC St. QB Russell Wilson at #75 last night, and that along with the free agent singing QB Matt Flynn, now gives them 4 QB's, so could the Panthers be interested in 1 of their extra QB's?
The other 2 Seahawks QB's are last year starter Tervaris Jackson, and his rookie backup Josh Portis, and unless someone gets injured, 1 of these 2 QB's will either be cut or traded. Here's the info on both QB's:
QB Tarvaris Jackson (6-2, 226) is a 29 year old veteran who started for the Seahawks last season (15 games, passing for 3,091 yards, with 60.2% completitions, 14 TD's, 13 ints., and a 79.2 QB rating), and started for the Vikings in the past. Like Cam he has the ability to run (4.69-40), but he isn't very effective (2.7 YPC in 2011), and doesn't feel pressure well (42 sacks in 2011).
QB Josh Portis (6-2 7/8, 211) from California (PA)is 24 years old, but he didn't throw a pass as a rookie last season. Like Cam he runs well, 4.62-40, 1.65-10 (just a little slower than Cam's 4.59-10 and 1.59-10), with even a faster 3-cone (6.84 to Cam's 6.92), and 20-yards shuttle (4.12 to Cam's 4.18) times than Cam, also posting a 40 inch vertical (35 inches for Cam). He might be more of a practice squad QB than a #3 QB.
I personally still feel that ECU's QB Dominique Davis is a better option as an UDFA, and a 2012 practice squad player. The content of these posts are those of the user/fan making the post only
