Hi. I'm from the future. As a Panthers fan, I'm sending this back to share with you my frustration over the lost opportunity that was the 2012 Draft first round pick. Spoiler: We drafted Fletcher Cox. What bugs the crap out of me is that several players who were available at pick #9 made the pro-bowl multiple times in the past four years.
Cox is good, solid in fact. He's reliable against the run and doesn't get pushed around too much, which is fine.
Kuechly continued to be a tackling machine on an average Seahawks team and made two pro bowls.
DeCastro was a great run blocker and made a pro bowl as pretty much everyone predicted. He would have been a good pickup since the o-line fell off big time after 2012.
But the one that really bugs me is ... (after the jump)
... Mark Barron. The guy is an absolute monster for the damn Cowgirls. He gets sacks, ints, and just changes the game the way Polamalu did for the Steelers a few years ago.
I did some looking, and I found this highlight from his college days. He was a leader and a beast for Alabama's teams, and he carried that over to being a beast in the NFL.
Ultimate Mark Barron Highlights (via TheVikingsworld2011)
We had a leader in Charles Johnson on the d-line and a linebacker leader in Beast. If only we had drafted Barron to lead our secondary... he would have been a playmaker in our scheme and made a big difference for our defense.
Please proceed with the various mumblings [too high for a safety mumble... too high for Barron mumble mumble... we didn't interview him gargle cough...].
