Every NFL team gets to conduct private work outs with 30 NFL draft prospects. Ryan Van Bibber with SBN's Rams blog has compiled a list of the private workouts announced to date. Here's what he as for the Panthers which I have perused and it seems to be accurate:
Carolina Panthers
Oklahoma State wide receiver Justin Blackmon
LSU defensive tackle Michael Brockers
LSU cornerback Morris Claiborne
North Carolina defensive end Quinton Coples
Notre Dame receiver Michael Floyd
Boise State safety George Iloka
West Virginia linebacker Bruce Irvin
Montana defensive back Trumaine Johnson
Boston College linebacker Luke Kuechly.
Memphis guard Ronald Leary
Arkansas State safety Kelcie McCray
LSU receiver Rueben Randle
Texas linebacker Keenan Robinson
Midwestern State guard Amini Silatolu
Michigan State defensive tackle Jerel Worthy
Baylor receiver Kendall WrightArkansas KR/PR/WR Joe Adams
Memphis defensive tackle Dontari Poe
Miss St defensive tackle Fletcher Cox
Syracuse DE Chandler Jones
If we have left anyone out please put in the comments and we will update it.
Quick analysis points to the obvious: Outside of WR the Panthers most likely will go defense in the 1st round. They obviously are looking at guards in the 4 to 6th round range. They are also looking at mid-round DBs, particularly at safeties.
Other positions of need not represented very well in the visits is the need for a punter and a KR/PR specialist, hence the Joe Adams visit I assume.
