Great Pro Day For Likely 2nd Round Pick, WLB Bobby Wagner

Utah St. LB Bobby Wagner (6-0 3/8, 235, 33 inch arms, and 9 1/2 inch hands)finally got to workout today (he missed the Combine and Utah St. Pro Day with an injury), and he was great. He ran a 4.45-40, with a 39.5 inch vertical jump, and and 11-0 broad jump. Somewhat like another likely 2nd round pick, Cal's Mychal Kendricks, he played mostly ILB in college, having 147 tackles in 2011 (445 tackles in his career), but he is expected to play WLB in the NFL (because of his small size). Here is a comparision of Wagner's measurement and Combine workout numbers with those of Kendricks, 1 1/4 inch taller, he weighs 4 pounds less, 1 3/8 inch longer arms, 2/100ths of a second faster than Kendricks "official" Combine 40 time, but 4/100ths of a second slower than Kendricks "unofficial" 40 time, the same 39.5 inch vertical jump, and 5 inches longer than Kendricks broad jump. This is great news for the Panthers, because they now have 2 equally talented WLB/MLB's available in the 2nd round, almost making it a sure thing that at least one of them will be available at the #40 pick. If the Panthers acquire another post #40 pick, this might allow them to pick another good player at another position (CB, S, DT, or WR).
