The Panthers "Oh God No" Draft

WalterFootball.com posted a new mock draft by Walt today, and it's the worst I've seen yet. The mock draft is only 5 rounds deep, and here are his picks, followed by some if the players he didn't chose.

9. NT Dontari Poe - From all the post, I think everyone knows Poe rather well so I won't list his info.

Here are some of the players passed over, #11 OG Decastro, DE/OLB Ingram, #14 DE Coples, #15 DT Cox, #18 DE/OLB Mercilus, #25 WR Hill, #26 DE/OLB Perry, and #30 TE Fleener.

40. CB Jayron Hosley - He's a good CB, but at 5-10, 178 pounds he's more of a nickle back than a CB, and he would have a lot of trouble with the big WR's in the NFC South (220 pounders will just push him around).

Here are some of the players Walt passed over at #40, #41 CB Josh Robinson (5-10 1/8, 199, 4.33-40), #43 LB Mychal Kendricks, #46 OLB Zach Brown,#48 DE Vinny Curry, and #57 DT Brandon Thompson.

104. OG Senio Kelemete - He's a little small (6-3 5/8, 307) for a OT like he played in college, with short arms (33 1/2 inch arms), who could only do 21 bench reps at the Combine, and is very slow (5.52-40), with an unbelieveably slow 1.95-10 yard split.

Here are the players Walt passed over, #105 WR Joe Adams, #112 OT Brandon Mosley, #118 DT Jay Howard, #121 WR Tommy Streeter, #127 OG Brandon Brooks (6-5, 346, 4.98-40, 1.71-10 yard split, and 36 bench reps), and #134 WR Jarius Wright.

143. WR Tim Benford - He's from a small school (Tennessee Tech), the Panthers talked to him at the Shrine Bowl, but he's a little on the small size at 5-11 1/4, with a slow 4.59-40, and an even slower 1.65-10 yard split.

Walt passed over some great talent for Benford, #149 RB/WR Chris Rainey, #151 OLB Bruce Irvin (a 4.41-40, with 22.5 sacks in the last 2 years), and #157 WR A. J. Jenkins (6-0 1/4, 4.39-40, with 90 catches in the Big 10 in 2011).

I don't know why, but walterfootball.com has been sticking the panthers with Kelemete and Benford for the last month or 2, Charlie Campbell even had Benford going to the Panthers with the #104 pick in his mock draft. Other than the Benford pick, Campbell's mock was much better than Walt's, with MLB Luke Kuechly at #9, DT Brandon Thompson at #40, and CB Donnie Fletcher (6-0, 195, 4.38-40) in the 5th round.
