RotoWorld.com's Evan Silva has written a story suggesting 10 possible trades that might occur before the draft, and he has Panthers RB Jonathan Stewart goin to the Broncos for their 2nd round pick, as his #4 trade, with QB Jimmy Clausen and RB Mike Goodson also listed as possible trades. I feel that a late 2nd round pick for Stewart isn't nearly enough. The Panthers would likely get a late 3rd round comp. pick if they keep him this year, and he leaves as a free agent nest year.
The Panthers can even keep Stewart this year, then franchise tag him next year, and it will still cost less than $10 million for the whole 2 years. I do like 2 of the other players he lists as tradeable. His #10 trade Bills CB Leodis McKelvin (5-10 1/4, 184) to the Browns for their 6th round pick. He was the #11 pick in 2008, ran a 4.38-40 and 1.43-10 at his Combine, and has had some return TD's, though he's lost his starting CB job. His salary is only $1.5 million this year, and be a free agent next year, so maybe think about trading the Captain for him?
The other player that Silva thinks is on the trading block that I like is Lions NT Sammy lee Hill (6-4, 329), a big NT with some pass rush ability. The Lions might like to get some cap room by trading him (he just re-signed as an ERFA), so the Panthers might could get him for a late round pick (or a conditional pick in 2013), or one of the Panthers smaller NT's.
