Saints Latest Scapegoat: TE Jeremy Shockey is the 'Snitch'

I saw this on the Canal Street Chronicles as a fanpost and had to link up his source. Apparently former Bucs DT Warren Sapp says TE Jeremy Shockey is the bountygate 'snitch':

According to former NFL player and current NFL Network analyst Warren Sapp, the whistle-blower in the bounty-gate scandal is former New Orleans Saints tight end Jeremy Shockey. This would not surprise me at all. To me, Shockey seems like the type of guy that would snitch. When he was released by the Saints last season offseason, he clearly wasn’t happy and likely spoke up about the bounty programs out of anger and frustration.

Talk about full on panic mode, they are looking for someone to blame when they should be calling for Payton and Loomis to be fired. I'm very amused by this statement in the fanpost where the author admits its all heresay but none the less barrages Shockey as if it is true:

To begin with, Sapp stated he, "just found out who the snitch was." Someone asked "Shockey?" And his reply was "Bingo!" I hate Jeremy Shockey now, not just because he's the snitch but because how petty and self-centered he's been his entire career. When a season-ending injury forced him to miss the Super Bowl when he was with the giants, Shockey grew a gargantuan chip on his shoulder for no reason that I can figure out. And then when the Saints released that aging bag of bones prior to the 2011 season, maybe he decided to exact revenge.

Granted this is still nothing more than conjecture until all the facts are known. But as of now, Jeremy can go fly a kite for all I care. What a loser!

I have no idea if Shockey is the whistle blower but I hardly see how it matters. The punishment was severe because the Saints lied to Goodell and then turned around and kept doing in 2011. They can't blame Shockey for that but I guess they will try until they move on to the next scapegoat.
