Hello everyone! Glad to be back. I have been away due to the reason that during the regular season I hardly play any video games so when the off season rolls around I will take a couple months off football related topics to catch up on video gaming. Well with the combine behind us, the draft several weeks away and free agency opening in a couple weeks, I thought now was the perfect time to make my triumphant return. I hope you guys have missed me as much as I missed you :) ok, enough with the corny mushy stuff and now back to business.

I know most of my fellow Panther fans are mostly consumed by the draft and who we will pick and so on and so forth. But before the draft, free agency opens up and that time is quickly approaching in just a couple short weeks. I know it doesn't seem as exciting due to our salary cap situation since we all assume we wont make any big splashes in free agency but I am still a believer that Hurney will put on his accounting cap and actually create some solid cap room for us. Now don't get me wrong, I am not naive to think we will be able to go out and sign a heavy hitter like a Mario Williams for hundreds of millions of dollars but I do think Hurney can get us to a point where we could spend in the $8-10 mill range. Which brings me to Hines Ward...

I personally think Hines Ward is just what the doctor ordered for us. I think the Steelers made a huge mistake cutting Hines Ward and I think he still has quite a bit left in him as a WR. I think Hines Ward would be good for a couple reasons. I think A. It will satisfy the fans longing for another stud WR weapon to supply Cam and B. The Steelers offense is (or was) very much like our current offense, Heavy deep passing attack mixed in with a pretty solid run game. Hines Ward would definitley command immediate attention on the field from opposing backs and finally take some pressure of Steve Smith.

Overall I think Hines Ward could be our Jeremy Shockey for the upcoming season. Meaning I think because of his age and previous injury history we could get him without breaking the bank and he could turn out to be a major contributor for us much like Shockey did last year when we signed him. I think Ward would fit in perfect with Cam and this heavy passing deep attack and I also think Ward has a couple solid seasons left in him. Hey, look at it this way. Ward doesn't even have a ACL (true story) so that is one injury we dont have to worry about happening. So what do you think fellow Panther fans, is Hines Ward just what the doctor ordered to give Cam another weapon aslong as we can get him for a reasonable price?
