I've finally gotten a response from the Charlotte Observer in regards to their coverage of the Carolina Panthers. I also lobbied for them to bring Darin Gantt back onto the beat. I would like everyone at CSR to voice their opinions. Please make it constructive and professional. I will compile all of your requests into my response to them. It's probable that they won't do anything at all, but at least they are willing to listen.
After the jump, I will post their response to my inquiry.
Adam - Thanks for writing. Rick Thames passed along your e-mail. Would appreciate hearing specific thoughts on your concerns. Darin was called back to Rock Hill by the Rock Hill Herald, which employes him. We loved having Darin cover the Panthers with our group of reporters. Now, Joe, Tom Sorensen, Scott Fowler and Ron Green Jr. have the main responsibility covering the Panthers for us. Be glad to hear specific concerns you have ... thanks for reading The Observer.
My initial reaction was, oh my god, the frigging editor of a news paper misspelled "employs"! My second was, why in the hell are Joe, Tom, Scott, and Ron so inept at their jobs. Darin Gantt's coverage seemed effortless and was a joy for the fans. I'd like to not make this response to the paper about Darin though. I would prefer to voice to them what we, the fans, would like to get from the existing staff. Thank you in advance for your help with this.
If anyone with superior writing skills would like to volunteer to write the response, I would happily accept. I will be glad to send it in.
