With Haruki Nakamura in town today, and Jason Brown rumored to be visiting shortly we could see the Panthers first outside signing of free agency. Personally, I'm glad we haven't heard much big news so far regarding Carolina. I think Greg Bedard said it best the other day via Twitter:
"First days of free agency are for suckers, and bad teams trying to impress their owners"
Thus far I think we've seen our fair share of suckers and bad teams looking to impress. Desperation is a stinky cologne, and if it makes an organization feel like Laurent Robinson is worth $32.5 million then I'm glad we're not desperate. With Cam Newton well and truly entrenched, and the remaining holes looking to be patched with mid-level veterans and through the draft I believe the Panthers are in a really great spot to build the team long term. It may not be flashy, but it will work.
