Rivera feels strong about fixing defense

While going into his second year as the head coach of the Carolina Panthers, Rivera has strong hopes about improving his Panther's defense. Before heading into his first year as Carolina head coach, the Panthers lost a lot of their star players on the defense side, and it caused them a lot of winnable games. Rivera being a defensive minded coach addressed that it was frustrating seeing his defense ranked towards the bottom. "Now that I've gone through the first season and understand what's expected of me, I think I can help a little bit more on the defensive side." "One thing you learn and adjust to is really what's needed or what's called upon for a head coach to do in terms of his duties. That was a little bit different for me, obviously, and I can be involved more with that side of the ball," Rivera said. As a fan I'm hoping for the best, and I hope that Rivera can use the magic that he once used in San Diego. In order for us to become contenders we have to do something about our defense, and I am pretty sure that Rivera and staff will improve things.
