A Call For Writers: We Need You!!!
Times change, so do the demands of Cat Scratch Reader. A few years ago it was just Jaxon typing away feverishly to give you all updates several times a week, then he added more people and we were able to get you news almost once a day, then he added more and we got to the point where we could update a few times a day. Every time we upped the amount of news the community grew, and now we're one of the biggest football blogs on the network.
As it stands the Panthers are on the precipice of breaking onto the national scene in a big way. We have new users from all around the country, and world, undoubtably curious about Cam Newton and the Carolina Panthers in general. As such, the demands of this blog have grown to a point where we need more talented, dedicated and hardworking individuals to help us keep this the best Carolina Panthers site on the internet.
To us it really doesn't matter what your motivation is; if you want to blog for fun, great! Want to get your foot in the door in the sports writing business? This is the way.
Regardless of what your motivation is we need people who are willing to write several times a week, who can handle story assignments from the managers and editors, and be able to offer original stories/opinions focused on the Carolina Panthers. Grammar/punctuation and spelling are a must, lest you feel the wrath of a sarcasm font laden reply from one of the community.
If you are interested in joining the team please comment below. You do not need to be a current member of the community, but it helps us evaluate your ability if you have posted fanposts in the past. I look forward to hearing from anyone interested in keeping the site the best it can be.
Thank you- Your CSR editorial team

New Writer.
Hey guys, my name is Ross, I’ve been a big Panthers fan for the last 3-4 years. I have a good bit of writing experience, my main tool has been my Auburn football blog that I’ve had for the past year or so (which means I also have a good bit of knowledge on Cammy Cam!). I usually post about 2-3 times a week during the season. I also write for another Auburn site called College and Magnolia, as well as write a few small bits on Aaron Torres sports as well.
The blog is called abritoforangeandblue.wordpress.com
I also have a twitter. @rosscollings
Thanks for the opportunity! Go Panthers!

What's up
My name is Carrington and currently a journalism major looking to go into sports writing. I think this would be a great way for me to begin my writing career and what better way to do it than for my favorite NFL team Carolina Panthers. my email is cvcaul@gmail if you want to email me.
Thanks,

Like the vast majority of bloggers, nothing... at least right now
This is a ‘foot in the door’ opportunity for someone looking to add to a portfolio and get their name out there, or just to have an outlet for their passion.
We can’t promise compensation in the future, nor could we rule it out.

I WANT IN
What’s up Panther Nation, my name is Ron and (in my Bart Scott voice) I CANT WAIT to contribute. I have a BA in communications, and I have worked on my college newspaper doing all kinds of sports articles. I have been a Panther fan for over 10 years, and have bloged occasionally here at CatScratchReader.com. I want to help in any way possible.
Panther's beat
My name is Stefan, I’m a Panther fan living in Denver, Co. I’ve been a Panther’s fan since 1995. I don’t have any published work or past comments to review, however I check this site daily. I love football, both professional and fantasy. For what it’s worth, I have won three fantasy football championships in three different leagues over the past four years. If someone farted in practice, I know who it was. I am a huge football dork. I am familiar with the format, general tone, and conduct of Cat Scratch Reader and I would be honored to be a part of the writing team. Thank you for your consideration.

I would love to contribute more
I’m not sure that my schedule permits me to be able to write on a regular schedule.
I wanna be the very best, like no one ever was
That's my problem as well
Before last season, I wrote about an article or 2 a week during the season, a little less in the off-season. Ever since going back to school though, time has kinda been scarce.

I;ve got a degree to study for and my grades need to improve. I’m sure I’ll contribute more in the summer when I’m off for like 4 months, until then I’m sorry.

School has been kicking my butt lately. But I do my best to try to fit in an article here and there! But studying takes up a lot of my time during the week.

I would be interested in this opportunity
I am a senior majoring in History so writing is one of my strengths since that is all I do. I’m not sure what I want to do with my degree so I’m interested in exploring professional writing. You can email me at mlrupert@ncsu.edu if you would like.
Dedicated Fan, looking to take the next step!
I have been a Panther fan for quite some time now, but all my thoughts, opinions, and knowledge of the team have come in the form of tweets, FB posts, or arguments at the sports bar on Sundays. I would say that out of the 24 hours in a day, including those of which I am at work, I spend about 12 thinking about the Carolina Panthers. I have a noticeable and blatant passion for this team, and it exists 12 months out of the year. I believe that the off-season can be just as important to developing a team as the regular season and understand the importance of total coverage. My background is in Psychology, in which I hold 2 degrees, but I do believe my education has been comprehensive enough to enable me to write in an entertaining and informative manner. Working to get my 15 minutes…
I cannot be held responsible for the truth.
We DO need a resident psychologist...
So much to be done, and so few people willing to do it for me.
You hear them, too. Cool, that means they're real.........right?
So much to be done, and so few people willing to do it for me.

I'm interested.

I would love the opportunity to contribute to this wonderful site
However, the high demand expectations each week may prove difficult as I am wrapped up in more pressing matters. I always have ideas about stories, both Carolina and league related. At best, I would be able to contribute one story every two weeks. I am interested and hopefully I will be afforded this opportunity again in the future.

I am a passionate Panthers’ fan who enjoys writing. If you’re looking for academic credentials, I’m not your man. However, I do have the time and motivation to give you everything that you would potentially ask of me. Please email me at derekwithsa@hotmail.com. Thank you for the opportunity.
Pantherboy would be a great addition. I have throughly enjoyed his recent fanposts.

Growl? Im INterested.
Whats up CSR Editorial Team,
Im not going to lie. The Seahawks are ultimately my favorite team but Carolina comes in second place. Also, Im a HUGE MLB Fan ( Go Dodgers) but why am I sharing this? Because I’m honest and won’t hold anything back. With that said I love to blog and just hit my 10,000 view mark on my personal site. (http://techguymarkham.blogspot.com)
While I try and touch base about sports its mostly about my life and I’d love a chance to explore into the media world especially in the sports genre. This can be fun for me and such a great learning experience. Just today I was talking to my friend about venturing out to seek new opportunities and wa la this is the one.
So you asked: Want to blog for fun? The answer is Y E S please.
Chance of a life time
I never wrote for my school paper. I don’t have a degree in journalism. What I do have is a drive to cover the Panthers. I was just listening to 610am in Charlotte thinking how great it must be having a job covering sports. Everything happens for a reason. Thanks for the opportunity.
I have been following Cat Scratch Reader since 2010 and finally signed up and made my presence known around here in September 2011. I had journalism 1, 2 and 3 courses in my high school and am pretty competent in my use of English, going as far as making sure I don’t have typos or incorrect punctuation in posts I have made. You all have seen a few of my works as I have made a few fan posts about The Carolina Swag and also showed a glimpse of what Cam Newton’s Pro Bowl jersey was going to look like. I bleed Carolina Panther blue and my wife and anyone who really knows me will tell you, I live and breathe for the Cardiac Cats. I do have a job but whether or not this pays, this is my idea of a dream job. I like typing, like making my views and opinions known, and I LOVE the Carolina Panthers. For me, this would be a win-win situation, and for all of you it would be a win situation as I would devote myself to finding the latest Carolina Panthers news and reporting it in ways that blow Charlotte Observer’s portrayal of us out of the water. Please give me this chance. I promise you won’t regret it.

Ready, Willing, and Able
While I may not have some of the journalistic experience or aspirations of those who have replied before me, what I do have is an unquenchable thirst for news and updates about out team. I have followed the team since day 1 and will continue to do so through thick and thin….no fair weather fan here. I have the time that would be needed to accept such a responsibility. My career allows me to work from home,at my own leisure, which would make it easier to contribute to the writing team. Please consider my request along with the other candidates, I look forward to the next step in this process.

I'd like to be considered.
I am a long-time baseball fan who has become increasingly more interested in football over the last few years. While I will never be confused with a professional scout, I do know my way around a search engine and read as much as possible regarding transactions and player evaluations. My writing portfolio is actually heavy in film criticism (blogging, magazine articles, newspaper articles) but I pride myself in writing both with humor and with insight. Drop me a line at matthew.monagle@gmail.com if you’d like me to put together a sample.

As long as there isn't a degrading initiation
I have neither formal writing experience nor a portfolio to regurgitate to you. I will not pretend to be Hemmingway or Fitzgerald, but I would admit to exuding their passion when it comes to the Panthers. I have commented on CSR regularly and always enjoy the articles you editors submit on a daily basis. Anyway, I would welcome the challenge if given the opportunity.

Football Wiz going into Journalism as a career
I haven’t been one to comment much on here, but I’ve been an avid follower of CSR. However, I’ve been pretty active on the Panthers Facebook page. I wil be going into Journalism for my major in college once I finish my liberal arts (bleh). I’m a passionate but open-minded Panthers fan, always open to new ideas. I’d love to be considered, and would gladly put the work in so I can have a jump start on Sports Journalism.

I'm definitely interested
Im in school right now and attend an online school so all I do is write. I was an editor for my high school newspaper when we were rated 2nd best in state, and can definitely put quality together if given time. If I knew more of the expectations, it would definitely be something I would look into. Been a diehard fan since 1995 and would cherish the opportunity to contribute more to the community.
Id love to be a writer
That is what my dream is to write sports or be a broadcaster. This is what I am going to college for. I am currently 18 a senior in high school and living in Winston-Salem, I dont know if that matters. I honesty feel like I can be a great sports writer because I can see things from multiple views and my whole life is devoted to sports, everyone I talk sports with loves my knowledge of the game, I dont mean to sound conceited but I would just love a chance to write for this blog.
I would honestly put my heart and soul into this
I love talking about sports and as I said this is my dream to be a writer or broadcaster if not a player ( Which is not happening). I dont mean to beg but this is just something that would mean a lot to me.

Hullo!
I was pretty active this season, in both threads and making my own FanPosts, but have kind of stopped commenting on articles. I come every day still, read up on everything, but have tried to stay away from both the trolls’ comments and from the cyclic, constant ideas that seem to come up in every thread. It’s the off-season, which means there won’t be much discussion that hasn’t already been discussed. And I would rather stay away from the controversial, conflicting people. I’ve found it much easier to dismiss / skip someone’s bone-headed statement, and found it much more beneficial to focus on the Panthers and those who really care about them.
With that said, I’ve written for several blogs (mostly dealing with the philosophy of writing, rather than anything sports-related), and can relay those sites if needed. I also have been paid to critique / edit transcripts by other authors, after I met several in an online community. What I looked over ended up being nothing worthwhile, but the experience is there. :]
Here are a few FanPosts of mine:
http://www.catscratchreader.com/2011/11/29/2598609/reflection-speculation
Note on the last link: I wrote a FanPost for the Cleveland Browns blog, but since it was very much informal, I didn’t focus on correct grammar and such (and I actually believe I might have had a few Blue Moons). I wrote it after a very close loss to the Steelers near the end of the season, trying to give some hope to their community, and I actually “sort-of” called that Steelers would lose to the Broncos! :P
I love to do research, and I think I have some great opinions to share. Being given a topic sounds like something I would love, and even if I don’t get the opportunity, I’ll still try and share my ideas throughout this off-season and for as long as the Reader is around. :]

scatterbrain (IMO) has been a valuable contributor here, and has written several incisive comments, that I admired. Not that I;m any force around here, but I'd like to see more of his thoughts.
As most of you regulars know, I’ve been an active poster here for years, and have contributed a lot of FanPosts. It made me initially think I’d like to offer my services for one of these coveted openings…
But though I have an English Lit background, from Columbia University, and about 50 years of avid NFL watching experience, I think it’s best to just stay a commenter, and defer to, and encourage, the young blood, who want and need to bolster their resumes and careers.
From all the new names I’ve read above, it seems there are many more applicants than openings, as with all paying jobs in this great country of ours right now. I don’t envy the Editors their job of selections, but I know Jaxon and James will handle it with their usual professionalism and wisdom. This is a great site, and the source of much pleasure to all of us Panther fanatics, and the infusion of new voices is a good way to keep it that way.
wow!! thanks for the compliment! :]
there looks to be a lot of well-deserving people here who have spent a lot of time with the craft of writing. i wouldn’t be too upset if any of these guys get picked over me. i’d still try to write some FanPosts (that’s not to say that I don’t want a writing position!!!!!)

A question...
How many “slots” is CSR able to add at the time? It’s a volunteer task… and if more and more people are willing to do it, does that mean more spots would be open? We all want to help, which is a good thing :]
better get 'em now!
We are trying to work all that out now
I agree it’s amazing to have this many responses, but there is a risk of ‘too many cooks in the kitchen’.
Ideally we’d like to get more content up for everyone… that’s the aim. If we could double what we are able to put up now it would be great. We don’t, however, want to get to the point were we have 10 things going up a day and good stuff is getting lost in the shuffle.
I'm pretty good at writerating.
However, my football knowledge is fairly limited. My Google-fu is Bruce Leroy level though. Give me a topic and throw together something.
Huge NFL Fan and would love to get this job
Sports is my life and If I was allowed to write about the Panthers it would be something I have dream about. As an Army Officer I have wrote several goverment policys that has change the way the Army operates; so I have had some experiance in writing. I’m currently in Columbia, SC and I attend eight to ten Panthers games a year.

I'm going to be 100% honest gang... I'm a little overwhelmed
I thought we might get 1 or 2 people interested, not 20+.
Full disclosure: I’m talking with the editors now on the best way we can handle all this. Obviously we have a lot of passionate fans who want the opportunity. My original plan was to ask the people interested to post a fanpost or two for evaluation, but we can’t have 25-30 hitting at the same time.
We will work something out sooner, rather than later. Thank you all at the wonderful response… we’re humbled, even if a little overwhelmed.
it’s a great place… we all just want to be a part of it.

At the end of the day.........
All interested parties can still post their work via FanPost. You gentlemen can “front page” the work that is deserving and give them their props in that regard. We know good writing when we see it. I’m sure the CSR base will “Rec” and give kudos where merited. I link FanPosts and FanShots from various people here on Twitter. There are more than a few folks here that have a gift for putting their thoughts into words. Unfortunately, I am not one of those people.
Good luck to all interested parties. Thank you all for making CSR an enjoyable place to be a part of.

Hello, everyone!
My name is Ryan, and I have been a Panthers fan since I was eight years of age. With regards to writing experience, I was an editorial writer for my high school newspaper. Also, I have received A’s on all of my college English Composition papers. Currently, I am an Accounting major at Old Dominion University. Although I currently live in Chesapeake, Virginia, I do have aspirations to move to North Carolina one day. Although I don’t have any intentions of making a name for myself, I believe that my work would provide a unique prospective on not only the Panthers, but also on the various aspects of the National Football League. I can also say that my passion for the game of football is unparalleled to anyone that I have associated with. I have a tremendous amount of respect for all of the managers, editors, and authors who have made Cat Scratch Reader what it is today. If I’m given the prestigious opportunity of joining the CSR staff, then I will strive to help CSR continue to be the very best that it can be.

I'M HERE FOR YOU GUYS!!!
got my print journalism degree in 2004 from App State, but to be honest i’ve always covered state, county and municipal politics, as well as crime, education and my specialty – general interest features. however, the panthers are a subject that has been near and dear to my heart since their inaugural season i also happen to be out-of-work at the moment (laid off near end of 2011 from daily journal in rockingham, nc.) have great references and clips, though they aren’t necessarily sports-oriented. this would be a dream opportunity for me to diversify my skill set and get back into practice. brownbyline@gmail.com. PLEASE HIT ME UP!!! we can work something out – i’m not greedy about being compensated or anything, and would be willing to do whatever i have to do to earn your confidence. hope you like what you hear:)

You can back load my contract and I’ll even sign a heavily incentive based contract.
I am diehard Panther fan like most of us here on CSR. I check into CSR multiple times a day. I enjoy the NFL off-season almost as much as the regular season. I’m planning to try to attend the NFL draft in NY this year and would like to post a few things from there. I don’t have a prolific posting resume here, but a few I have written seem to have gone over well. I have always been interested in writing, though I haven’t really done any formal writing for anything. (I got a C in journalism my sophomore year in college. But maybe I’m more like collard greens, I just take a little longer to excel)

Hey, Jaxon, It's Your Neighbor.
There was a time long ago when I looked upon the Carolinas and I felt very happy for the citizenry. Back in 1995, I was working for the CBS television affiliate in Chattanooga, Tennessee and getting my feet wet in the sports anchoring business. Before I was offered the weekend job, I was allowed to try my hand at it to see if I had the writing chops for it, the capability of reading a teleprompter without looking like a four-legged traffic obstacle, and the mental instability to want to work for less than what unemployment pays now. The answer was a resounding “yes” on all accounts. Having left the Midwest behind, my allegiances to a certain Big Ten football team and a certain NFL franchise were hindered by how few people in the Volunteer state cared about my Wolverines in the college ranks, and Cincinnati in the pros. I add parenthetically that even fewer would relinquish the remote so that I could continue that allegiance. Clearly, the proliferation of satellite TV sports bars would help me down the road, but until then, I sought a new football team. My Bengals were awful, and the nearby Atlanta Falcons didn’t do it for me.
Enter the Carolina Panthers. Being actual cousins of Bengal tigers, just that premise would have worked for me, but holding a new NFL team in a high regard because two mascots shared a common ancestry was a bit thin. I liked them because I thought they were new, brash, and, hey, give a growing Piedmont region a team, they seem to have a solid fan base. The Panthers were good right out of the box; they were exciting, and I dubbed them the “Killer Kitties” on the spot in my weekly NFL highlights.
Fast forward to my tenure here in Charleston. Over the last twelve years, I have learned one thing when it comes to interacting with the (sporting) general public: people will put up with your being a fan of other teams if you have at least a tepid response when the local teams become the subject of conversation. Around here, the quality of life increased dramatically when USC and Clemson had good years, and if you doubt me, ask anyone who was around when that new millenium showed up.
So, here I go, offering up thoughts and opinions that will reflect not just an interest in the well-being of the Carolina Panthers, but other facets of our obsession with watching opponents mangling each other in a sport that also exhibits spectacles of finesse and speed. And a healthy dose of vulgarity for the zebras. It’s football. And the draft isn’t that far away.
Oh snap! Jaxon's neighbor has thrown his hat into the ring!
Things are about to get super serious now! Woot woot!
Welcome to the blog!

I expected hand delivery of a contract and bo berry biscuits.

I would like to be considered as well
Maintained a personal blog since I found CSR. I posted two FanPosts in the playoffs, and will continue to do so in the offseason. Huge HUGE fan of the community and would love the opportunity to contribute. Thanks James!
Enjoyed your stuff as well...
Is that a Panther onesie on the baby? My baby doesn’t like when I put her down to get on CSR.

I'm very interested.

I want to second James 'Thank You for the Response' comment
We will be ironing out the process for proceeding in the next day or 2 at the latest and you will get an email from us with instructions.
Thanks again…we are elated to have this many Panther fans wanting to contribute. It’s going to be a great 2012!
What happened to Bill Voth and the other new guy?
Looking forward to the offseason and draft. I’d love to write, but like some have said can’t make the commitment so I look forward to the new contributors!

I have to admit that this really interests me
but I’m a bit wary of a time commitment, and I haven’t posted a ton of stuff on here that could be considered a resume. I am a graduate student at UNCC getting a masters in public relations and communication studies and spend most of my time writing academic papers. There is a particular type of writing I may be interested in though. I have a game rewind subscription and love going back to some of my favorite plays of the season to see what went right and how they break down. I may start taking screenshots and posting analysis on here, if they are well received maybe they will become a regular installment.
You guys should really try and find a copy editor.
Let me start by saying that I enjoy this blog and that this is where I come for my Panthers news. With that said…
The number of posts I see on this blog with spelling and grammatical errors, in big stories that many fans (not just Panthers fans) are reading, is terrible. If you are putting out a call for more writers because your readership is growing, it wouldn’t be a bad idea to make sure that these posts are error-free.

Is this a job application?
If so, good. If not, don’t complain.

It's a suggestion.
And frankly he wasn’t obnoxious about it. I don’t see why a copy editor shouldn’t be asked for. Jaxon and James do a tremendous amount of work here and their content is always exceptional, however everyone makes mistakes. It’s not shameful to have someone else do a quick run-through before publishing.
Yes I'm a dude.

And that's what I do FW. I check behind the front page stuff.
So what he’s saying is I don’t do a good enough job, and apparently you agree with him.

That is debatable.
“You guys should really try and find a copy editor” is not exactly and endearing way to make a suggestion. In fact, it’s rather insulting.

Lol.
A copy editor for a free blog. Now that’s rich. Personally, I find more mistakes in the Charlotte Observer than I do on the front page here. Random FanPosts and FanShots are a different story but even most of them are quite readable. Anyone with expectations of grammar perfection should be spending their time on Shakespeare, not sports blogs.

I certainly don’t think anyone comes to a sports blog expecting grammar perfection. Was just making a suggestion in a similar vein to the call for writers if our readership is expanding so rapidly.

Fair enough.
I just don’t feel it is necessary for any material beyond the front page. Since that material is typically already print worthy, I see little need for the addition of another layer. Just my opinion.

I appreciate the suggestion
I do my best on my own pieces, but unfortunately copy editor is a thankless job that nobody really wants to do.
I agree we need to get better about proofreading fanposts we frontpage, but I don’t think there’s a huge issue with our story content. There are gaffs here or there, but we do our best.
I appreciate it when people point out mistakes i’ve made, and one day we may have a copy editor.

Technically, it's what I do.
I just copy-edit without you guys knowing I do it.
Well, not anymore since I said it, lol.
But, I’m only one person, and I don’t have time to do every thing that every moderator puts up on the front page.
Sorry, not bitching at you James. I just get irritated when people gripe about the copy editor thing. It’s kind of a “don’t kick my dog” thing to me.

Fair enough
I know plenty of folks get butthurt when the subject of grammar/spelling comes up. I did not intend my post to be viewed as a splash of haterade, but that’s how many people view it nonetheless. Just thought I would mention it along with the call for new writers – I know I would rather copy edit than write articles, and there may be someone out there with similar leanings. It is good to know that there is a copy editor on the blog, even in a limited capacity. I am well aware that copy editing is a largely thankless job, having been a copy editor myself in the past.

I would love to write about the Panthers!
I think I would be an invaluable part of your team at csr, I have a unique perspective on the Panthers and am a huge fan. I was an english major at unc, and I have a lot of writing experience. I attended all but 1 home game the last two seasons, training camp the last 4 years, and I attend 1 away game at least per season. I live in Chapel Hill and attend all UNC football games offering me insight on the college level as well. People are always telling me I have a unique perspective on sports and I tend to notice things others don’t. I have been a fan since day 1, I live close, and I attend all the games, i think I can be an informative contributor and would love to write about the best team in the nation (world?).

Ready, Willing and Able
CSR Staff:
I am a franchise-long Panther fan and an avid reader of CSR as well as the psuedo-defunct Carolina Growl. I have a degree in english from Guilford College, where I was a staff writer for the Guilfordian for two years and a columnist for one.One of my features articles is still used in the handbook provided for journalism students.
I would be honored to provide literate, intelligent, and hopefully sometimes comedic takes on emerging Panther and general NFL news. I hope I can be of service.

I'd be interested as well in possibly writing about the Panthers.
Of course, I don’t have the contacts that folks like James has, but I’m still willing to give it a shot, depending on the subject matter. I think I still have my article from last year sitting around here someplace… ah, here it is:
http://www.catscratchreader.com/2011/3/18/2059074/if-i-were-the-panthers-front-office-qb-edition
Granted, that was last year’s draft and staring solely at the QB position, but hopefully it gives a decent idea of my writing style and whether it will work.
even if i'm not chosen...
at least this post right here, this call for writers, at least it has me posting around CSR again :P
better get 'em now!
Hi, my names Jason
I’m a sophomore in college majoring in Communication taking the Journalism track. To start off about my sports interests, I’ve been an extremely passionate Panthers fan ever since the 2003 season when they fell just short of being Super Bowl champs. They had an amazing playoff run that was full of fight, desire, teamwork and heart that reflected their amazing regular season and I’ve never looked back since. But even more than a Panthers fan, I’m a football fan. I don’t watch games to watch them, I watch to learn. When the ball is snapped, I look at the linebackers coverage’s (because you can’t see the secondary or wide receiver routes) and the offensive line to see the tactics they use to protect the QB and create holes for the backs. As far as writing goes, I love it. I love thinking of ways to explain thing in a metaphoric way and have the ability to simplify it in a way a mass audience can understand it. One example of a relate-able metaphor came in an IGN video game review of Jak II, (for anyone who was a kid in the mid 00’s and had a PS2 should know about this game) which was a sequel to Jak and Daxter, and the transition from the first to second was drastic to say the very least. It went from being a sweet child’s game to Grand Theft Auto without the blood and cursing. IGN described it as a “young teenager finding out about drugs for the first time” It was really the most brilliant explanation of the change in the games. I do really enjoy writing. I might be the only student in my school who enjoys writing paper. Maybe a little overwhelmed at first, but still enjoy it very much.
I’ve had a passionate for writing ever since the seventh or eighth grade, but have never had the balls to step out of my comfort zone to try to make something out of it, usually my excuse being ‘I don’t think I’m good enough’. So this is one of the steps I’m taking to rid myself of irrational fear. And looking at this opportunity to write for CSR from a rational point of view, I know the odds are against me. But being rational doesn’t mean I can’t look at the glass as half full. I hope you guys consider me for the spot, God knows I’ll embrace it and take advantage of it, but if not I’ll still be a member reading these blog posts everyday and supporting whichever writer is chosen.
If you need my Email it’s JReimann382@flagler.edu
Thanks for the consideration guys. Go Panthers!

I'm interested!
I’d like to sign up to give my 2 centz! I’m a huge Panthers fan. I’m a Charlotte, NC native but I live in Atlanta. I am opinionated and can express my thoughts effectively and efficiently. I have multiple ideas for potential articles currently. Although I’m a big fan I can still be constructively critical of our team.

I'll express interest.
Hey, I’m new to the blog, but I thoroughly enjoy writing. Most (OK, all) of the stuff I’ve posted is college football related, and my personal blog is shuttered for the offseason so I can concentrate on my regular job. However, if you’d like to read my work, here’s a link to the blog: http://collegefootballreview.blogspot.com/
Because the current front page is filled with my (in retrospect awful) bowl picks, here’s a link to a more typical post of mine, a review of the week in college football (this one’s from early this season): http://collegefootballreview.blogspot.com/2011/09/saturday-in-review-91711.html
Lastly, here’s a link to a serious post, if you need a writer for that sort of thing: http://collegefootballreview.blogspot.com/2011/11/penn-state-opinion.html
Let me know what you think!

I'm impressed!!
This is not an application, I just impressed from everyone that responded. I’m one of those quite readers whose reads everyday and may or may not post. I’ve been reading CSR for many years even during the times of MP. I also don’t envy the Editorial staff when selecting the next writers, but from reading all the applicants I’m sure that you can’t go wrong with either as long as they have love for Panthers I say let’em write.
