Panthers Announce No Increase In Ticket Prices for 2012

==========
The Panthers announced a couple things yesterday sure to interest some of you. They notified their PSL owners no increase in ticket prices will occur for the 2012 season:
The Panthers say they have informed permanent seat license (PSL) owners they will not raise season ticket prices for the 2012 season.
There was a spike in interest in Carolina following the arrival of No. 1 overall draft pick Cam Newton, The Associated Press Offensive Rookie of the Year.
Apparently the Panthers have this hot shot rooke QB that generated a lot more attention to the team in 2011. Maybe you have heard of him? I'm being facetious obviously. So guess how much Panther TV viewership was up last season?
Consequently, television numbers were up in North and South Carolina with the team experiencing a 25 percent increase in viewership. The average weekly telecast was seen by approximately two million people.
The Panthers have sold out 93 consecutive home games and Carolina director of ticketing Phil Youtsey says "that's a tribute to our fans."
25% is a pretty big jump but is still no surprise to me. The kid is just getting started...

There needs to be another option for the poll...
My reason is “No, because I refuse to drive four hours one way to sit above the ozone layer with a bunch of obnoxious people who would tell me to sit down and shut up if I jump up and cheer a touchdown. Instead, I’ll watch from the comfort of my own home in HD with MY beer that didn’t cost $7 a cup, MY food, and MY restroom.”
Since that wasn’t an option, I chose “No ‘cause I can’t git off my couch.” (Not that it’s inaccurate, but I don’t like to admit these sort of things.)

You would be very surprised...
I find it kinda funny how overblown the “wine and cheese” thing is. I’ve been to a fair amount of games and have never encountered someone telling me to “sit down and shut up.” My seats have ranged everywhere from the 500s all the way down to the 100s, so it’s not a sectional problem either.
I’m not denying that incidents happen, but I just think they are vastly in the minority.
It's prevalent in the 300s section (unfortunately where I sit)
but I agree with you it being overblown.

the stadium has a worse rep than it deserves
I’ll admit, cowgirls and sqeelers games suck to attend because it’s basically a home game for the away team, but I’ve never seen, nor heard a first hand account (not on the internet) of someone who was told to “sit down and shut up” after a touch down.
Can’t help ya on the $7 beer or the swampy bathroom floor.
I'll go to one this season!
but that’s only because I can’t drive 20 hours to make it to a home game. I get to watch my once every 8 years game at KC.
Great for you! I'm glad we're playing KC on the road so you can go.
It has to be tough being an out of market fan. I think I’d go insane.

Yeah that's got to be hard.
I live in Southern Virginia(a.k.a Gods Country, lol) and it’s hard to get Merch and tickets and watch the game on TV without Sunday Ticket so it must be a nightmare.

I have to either go to a sports bar or watch via streams
I also may have gone a bit overboard on the merch this year, now I’ll have to decide between wearing 89 or 28 to the stadium(or maybe I can drag someone along and make them wear the other jersey).
As far as the road game goes, I’m hoping for a repeat of the 2008 meeting of 34-0!
Ya I lived in KC for 15 years so the only Panthers game I have ever been to was at Arrowhead in 2004 when Deshaun Foster went off for 175 yards. Now I live in Corpus Christi, TX so im not quite sure a drive to Charlotte is in the future lol. After I graduate college though I would like to move to the Carolinas and be near the team!

I would suggest mowing the lawn on Sunday afternoons
I went to one game with my wife, and a drunken “Who Dat” kept screaming at random intervals. Not even related to the game….

I watched this seasons Bears game on the Wednesday Replay while in Qatar
That excruitiating. I couldn’t consider living outside of the Carolina’s and missing a chance to watch my team. My hat is off to you sir on being a fan while being away from the team.

I wish I could go...
Since I live in San Francisco it would be a bit difficult to get to the games every week. However I am pretty sure we will be playing the Raiders this year and I plan to go to the game. Last time, I was able to sit about 30 feet from the Panthers bench. It was AWESOME! I am not going to lie though, I totally covered my Panthers gear until I got to my seat and looked around. Raiders fans are freaking nuts!!!

Yeah you can tell that just by looking at the stands during game
It looks like a prison field trip every sunday

Oakland is the one stadium that I'd consider not wearing Panthers gear at.
Place is just crazy.
Bad news for you though, We are playing Oakland, but it’s a home game.
DONT WEAR IT IN PHILLY!!!
You want to talk about crazy? Those are the most insane and ruthless fans I’ve ever seen!

where's the option for no.... because its 7,000 miles away
Seriously though I really like this. It would be easy to hike up ticket prices because we’re going in right direction and we’ve sold out 92 home games in a row, but no.. The big cat is a classy cat. Let’s not forget that jerry didn’t cut anybody’s wages in the off season past despite not knowing how long the lockout was going to go on. Respect

I'm still going to the 8 home games a year (barring anything unfortunate occuring).
This just makes it that much sweeter.
Cam Newton, when a reporter asks him who will win the Heisman Trophy on Saturday: "I'll tell you Sunday."
finally got psls!
absolutely pumped for this year to start. thought the ticket price freeze was suprising given the increased attention…I know I would have raised them if it were my call. as a fan though, I’m obviously thrilled.

Wish I could go to more games.
College student in Georgia, so I can only go to ~one a year, hoping to make a few more this year though. Grandparents own PSLs, so it’s nice to see this for them.
