CSR OT Open Thread, Vol. 8

PrintIt's a new week, which means it's time to start up another OT Open Thread to give us a place to have our non-Panthers discussions (because heaven forbid we discuss non-Panthers stuff anywhere else).
Right now we're in that dead period between the Super Bowl and the Combine where there's not much to talk about, so hopefully this open thread will be a way to keep conversations flowing, even if they're not about the Panthers.
As usual, here's a refresher course of the rules:
This is the place where you can talk about almost anything you want, and we prefer you start any off-topic conversations here to help keep the front page articles focused on the Panthers (after all, this is a Panthers site).
Please keep in mind that while this is an "open thread", the rules of CSR still apply. Play nice with each other, don't bring up politics and/or religion, and don't post NSFW images or use words that you wouldn't say in front of your mother. (Ok...we'll be lenient on the language...but let's try to keep the F-bombs to a minimum.)
Feel free to use this space as your "community cafe" so to speak, where you can discuss movies, music, tv shows, food, or anything else you want to discuss, so long as it adheres to the rules.
Also, please be sure to rec this thread so it stays near the top of the fanpost section to ensure everyone who wants to join in can easily locate it, and be sure to "unrec" the previous OT thread so it will disappear from the sidebar since it will no longer be relevant once this thread gets started.
Okay Panthers fans, this is now an off-topic open thread!

The whole SB Nation mothership was down earlier today, and since it’s been back up the fanposts section has been missing.

It was a great game until the end when the ref didn’t call Curry for traveling and when Zeller tipped in a opponents shot and missed clutch free throws…. It’ll be alright though we’ll see Duke in Cameron Stadium

I’m more so talking about the travel on Seth Curry or when Zeller got pushed going for a rebound… But its over with now and hopefully we’ll see another great game on March 3

I absolutely hate Austin Rivers' game
I know he’s very quick and he can get to the rim, but he only passes as a last resort and is a complete black hole on offense. A guard shouldn’t have a negative AST:TO ratio.
As a Duke fan i agree about Rivers being a black hole. He has 55 more shots then anybody else on the team…he is a 1 on 1 player in a system offense. Doesn’t work most of the time. 4 guys standing around watching him dribble to the rim and miss half the time or get bailed out by a foul…..BUT last night was a thing of beauty. Without him we get blown out in that game. Nobody on Carolina could guard him. Zeller was killing us first half but he became the goat of the game. Missed two free throws towards the end. Tipped in a airball and fails to get pressure and his hands up in the face of a 6’4 guard….Rivers stole his soul last night…Subzero!

yeah i got it when it came out and i STILL have not beat it. Game is insanely long. Almost every person in the game will send you on a side mission.

I have something like 75 open quests on Skyrim right now
I did manage to finish the main quest, but there are a lot of major story arcs that are still unfinished.

There are a few perks for your bow that can allow you to zoom in and slow down time while you lose fatigue. They are insanely fun.
ACC Championship Member Brandon Thompson is the new Jacoby Ford. You better pick him Panthers or you will be doomed to relive the 2010 season over and over again in the Twilight Zone.

I just got RAGE for the xbox 360
The game is awesome. It’s almost like a better version of fallout. I don’t mean to piss of Fallout fans cuz it was a popular game but I hated it and I can’t get enough of RAGE.

why would you say that a game you like is like fallout, but better?
That doesn’t make sense to me.
In my opinion, it’s not very similar to Fallout at all(even assuming you meant Fallout 3, because it’s not at all similar to Fallout 1).
Rage is more of a FPS with some RPG elements, FO3 and NV are more RPGs with FPS elements.
I was refering to the similarity as in a Post Apocolyptic world
With small bands of survivors trying to survive a savage world. Only it is better in the fact that in Rage, the guns actually kill people. I liked the idea of Fallout 3 but was turned off by the fact that if I faced an enemy and actually had the 50 bullets it took to kill him and was able to make the multiple shots before he was able to fire his 3 or 4 shots it took to kill me, then I could take his “Awesome” gun that was so deadly and have to shoot the next enemy 50 times to his 3 or 4 to kill me. And I also hated the idea of walking everywhere, it just added to much time to the game. I have to believe that if I were a post apocolytic survivor and was planning to travel, I would try to procure some sort of transprtation to not only limit my travel time but also offer some sort of protection from the dangers that lurked throughout the world that now exists.And frankly FO3 was boring.

Very, very good game in terms of visuals and framerate and such.
Just kind of repetitive. Not much variance. Enjoyed it for a few days.

Good news for the Carolina Panthers
An NFL spokesman announced today that Roger Goodell will be eliminating one team from the NFC South in a cost cutting venture. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Atlanta Falcons have been selected to be combined into one team.
Tampa Bay Bucs Atlanta Falcons forming the South Eastern Tampons.
Good news for the Panthers as the new team will only be good for one period and lacks a 2nd string.
