CSR Super Bowl Preview Around the Web
I typically pull for the NFC in the Super Bowl and this year is no exception. The Patriots are favored of course since of course Tom Brady is the QB. His wife is doing some Brazilian mind control ritual to insure the Patriots win. Or maybe she's just get getting a shave? Not sure...
Not speaking of Brady, is it still possible to live vicariously through your QB:
Katy Perry gets her flirt on with Cam Newton | CharlotteObserver.com & The Charlotte Observer Newspaper
Perry playfully flirted with co-presenter Cam Newton, saying: "You'll be the first straight man I've had a photo with in a long time, so live up to it."
Come on Cam...she's begging for a straight man, the bar isn't set very high if you know what I mean (no offense to the gay guys she's been hanging with). Blink twice if you hit that last night cause I gotta know!
Speaking of getting gronked, the key player for the Patriots offense should be able to contribute:
NFL.com news: Patriots coach says Gronkowski going to play in Super Bowl
Gronkowski was seen Saturday walking limp-free during a Super Bowl photo shoot. On Friday, the tight end was listed as officially questionable for Sunday's game. On Friday, Gronkowski took part in the team's walk-throughs. He was listed as a limited participant Thursday and Friday after not practicing Wednesday.
So the Giants are getting 3 points yet the only SI pundit going with the Giants is Peter King:
Super Bowl XLVI Picks, Crystal Ball by SI.com NFL contributors - NFL - SI.com
Why the Giants will win: The only thing I know is it'll be a two-minute-warning kind of game. One team's going to have a chance to win this one late. It comes down to the Giants' terrific pass rush, and whether Matt Light can hold up for 60 snaps against the dangerous Osi Umenyiora. I say Umenyiora makes a few decisive plays. The Super Bowl MVP will be... Osi Umenyiora In honor of Dr. Z, predicted length of national anthem: 1:5
Sorry but I just don't see these Giants as such a big underdog:
Joe Posnanski " Posts An Unusual Super Bowl "
This is what makes the 2011 Giants so interesting. These Giants really have no precedent. The closest I can really come up with is, well, the 2007 Giants … who went 4-4 in their last eight games, had one of the greatest playoff runs in NFL history (winning three straight road games) and then pulled one of the all-time upsets in the Super Bowl. But the truth is that Giants team was very different from this one. The 2007 Giants team had an overpowering running attack … the 2011 Giants had trouble running the ball most of the year. The 2007 Giants were much better at stuffing the run. The 2007 Giants gave up fewer points and many fewer yards.
They are peaking and I fully expect them to put points on the board...
The Number 5 Best Super Bowl in history was the Panthers 2003 appearance:
Super Bowl XXXVIII
New England 32, Carolina 29
The furor over Janet Jackson's infamous "wardrobe malfunction" at halftime overshadowed a thriller that started slowly. After a record 25 minutes and 55 seconds of scoreless play, the two teams exchanged 24 points in the final 3:05 of the second quarter, with the Patriots grabbing a 14-10 lead. By the fourth quarter, the score was tied at 29. The contest wasn't settled until there were four ticks left on the clock. Adam Vinatieri's 41-yard field goal gave the Patriots their second championship in three seasons.
NFL.com news: Patriots release WR Underwood day before Super Bowl kickoff
Wide receiver Tiquan Underwood was released by the New England Patriots on Saturday night, less than 24 hours before Super Bowl XLVI -- bad news for him, of course, but a move that increases the likelihood Chad Ochocinco will be active against the New York Giants in Indianapolis.
New York Giants' Deon Grant, New England Patriots' Shaun Ellis are close friends at at crossroads again | NJ.com
Grant was supposed to be in the car with him. With spring practice approaching at the University of Tennessee, he had planned to meet Ellis in South Carolina to make the trek back. But because Grant needed to get back to Knoxville a day earlier than planned, he caught a ride from someone else. "He wouldn’t have made it. That’s how close …" Ellis said, his voice trailing off. "His life could’ve changed." Or ended.

Same, but there was no way he was sitting this one out.

Its amazing
If you google Super Bowl XXXVIII on images, the majority of the first several pics are of the wardrobe malfunction. Let’s hope Madonna does the world a favor and keep her tatas inside their respective cones. That being said, I will be busy flushing my toilet at halftime.

Can't do it.
I just hate the patriots too much to ever pull for them against anyone.

It's weird...
I respect the hell out of Tom Brady and he may well go down as the G.O.A.T. Hard to argue with it if he gets his 4th ring tonight, but I can’t pull for them. I don’t know if it goes back to them beating us in the Super Bowl or what. On the flip side, I can’t stand Eli ever since the pulled to bitch move on San Diago when he was drafted. I don’t honestly care who wins

But beyond Brady there us the coach
Belichick has done wonders with this team for over a decade. To get his team to this game as often as he has or competing each year (including 2008 when Brady was lost for the season) speaks volumes for what kind of coach he is and the type of players they employ. All of them professional, minus the likes of Ochocinco who come in, study and play hard. The Patriots organization, love them or hate them, have set the standard for how a team should be built. We can only hope Carolina learns from their model and build their own success and dare I say….dynasty.

Wasn't Shaun Ellis the guy ...
… who got called for “unsportsmanlike conduct” while he was on the sidelines?
He was getting a cup of Gatorade and the OFFENSE was on the field. Somehow, the ref called the wrong number. He got a lot of ribbing about that, “How dirty a player is he? He got flagged from the SIDELINES !!”.
Patroits better enjoy this
Because over the next decade, it’ll be the Panthers dominating the NFL . Once we sort out that minor issue of defense.
Seriously though, I became a Panthers fan after SB XXXVIII, which admittedly was the first time I’d seen them play (in those days, the only NFL games I watched were Super Bowls, being from Australia, and too cheap to get pay TV).. But I hope that the Pats lose, after a field goal in the dying seconds by Lawrence Tynes
