I wasnt as high on Brockers as many of you guys here before the combine, and im even less excited about him after his workouts at the combine. 19 reps for a man that large who plays a position of strength is not very good considering that Stephon Gilmore put up 15 and is 190 pounds and plays CB. Gilmore actually helped himself in my opinion by running a good 40 time, and I think would be a good addition if he's around in the 2nd when we pick.
Alshon Jefferey.... Why did you make the trip to Indy only to get weighed and measured? With big guys like Tommy Streeter, and Stephen Hill doing their thing, I think AJ hurt his stock by not working out.
My guy Bruce Irvin seems to have helped himself to some good numbers, and would also be a good pick in the 2nd (dont think he'll last to mid 2nd round). I'm curious however, why he worked out with the DL instead of LB's. He would be awesome rushing the QB from the OLB spot in certain situations as a rookie, and provide a dynamic we havent had in a long time.
Whitney Mercilus had a good showing, and IMO could end up like Jason Pierre-Paul with a slow start, but burn the league up in his 2nd year. The G-Men have shown what a bunch of good pass rushers can do for your team.
Once upon a midnight dreary, while I pondered weak and weary, a huge DT walked through the door(ok, so im not a poet), but Dontari Poe has put himself in the mix with the top DT's in the draft with a beast of a combine. We need more beef in the middle of our DLine who can hold up double teams and let our ends and LB's do their jobs more efficiently.
These are just a few of my thoughts with the combine wrapping up. Which player(s) do you think helped/hurt his stock the most this weekend?
