When a player causes a stir at the NFL Combine simply by weighing in you know you have a rare specimen indeed:
The defensive tackle was listed at 6-foot-5 and 322 pounds, with 9 1/8-inch hands and 35-inch arms — contributing to his 83 7/8-inch wingspan. Despite only one full season as a starter at LSU (with 47 total tackles and two sacks in 2011 as a redshirt sophomore), Brockers’ measurable caused a stir and could lift his draft stock at the NFL Scouting Combine.
I have no idea if this helps Brockers in the Panthers eyes but given we already know he is coming in for private workout in March we now have no question as to why. 35 inch arms! 84 inch wingspan? 322 with the build to add a little more weight? I'd have a hard time being upset if he is the Panthers choice at #9. Then a CB in the 2nd and a LB in the 4th please!
On a different note Brockers hand size gives perspective to WR Alshon Jeffery's hand size which was measured a full inch & 1/8th larger than the 100 lb heavier Brockers. Jeffery has catcher mitts for hands essentially. Let's hope he runs a 4.6 and slides to us at #40! Wait, I want a CB at #40...hmmm. Glad I'm not Hurney!
