There are prospects out of Coastal Carolina?
Interesting to see where the Panthers will be going… and maybe more so where they aren’t going…
If J/N is on the boards in the fourth round, the cats will grab him.
He’ll take a bit of coaching, but I think BAMF has already demonstrated that he is willing to do that. He’s also brought in the coach he WANTS to do that.
hmm...
I could have sworn that I had an addendum to that comment about CCU to make that sarcasm more apparent. Whoops?
allthough we cant draft him I would consider
Their former coach the “kitty cat in the house guy”’ or “be a dog” if that works better as a spokesman for the team.

Nobody is ignoring Luck
If a pro scout doesn’t know what A/L can do by now, he has no business being a scout. His body of work against quality talent is obvious.
RG3 on the other hand, has them muttering and murmuring and scratching their heads. … ESPECIALLY after the disaster of JaMarcus Russel and the glorious success of Cam Newton.
RG3 played for BAYLOR against … er, well he had some (MANY) great moments. He has some fabulous stats AND a Heisman. Those last comments were being mumbled about Newton.
So if RG3 comes out of BAYLOR, someone might also come out of C/C. (Josh Norman, David Duran)
No one will ignore Luck.
At least, no one who isn’t QB-starved. Luck’s body of work looks impressive, but I’m still not sold mostly because Stanford’s strength of schedule isn’t as strong as some other college conferences (SEC comes immediately to mind).
+1

Auburn
As an Auburn fan I’m asking why we are in bold too? We have zero top caliber prospects coming out this year.

Doesn't have to be top-caliber.
I think the thought process here is that a) Cam knows who’s on the team and can provide his own insights for Rivera and the coaches, as well as our scouts, and b) Rivera and the scouts might already be looking at someone for the later rounds of the draft.
Doubt Cam knows much about this years auburn team
Or that he cared to know much about them when he was there. He won’t know how well a mid round DB was

Prospects
I think if there are draftable prospects on that team, it would be RT Brandon Mosley, and Safety Neiko Thorpe.
Thorpe is a very coachable prospect imo. He has good size but did struggle with coverage consistently.

OT Brandon Mosley
Is the only reason why. A mid-round prospect.
My Homerism wants VT bolded
esp. with UVA bold. I think Minnifield may be gone before our 2nd round pick, but Hosley should be there for sure. And VT secondary players have done well as of late, I’d not mind that pick at all (very biased I know but mostly true).
I asked Evan Silva about Minnifield
And apparently his stock has taken a hit due to a knee surgery after the season.

Unless I’m being a Homer as well lol.

I can see that being the case
But if its the Jayron from 2 years ago that’s showing up now, I don’t see that as a reach. I’m not sure if he fully recovered from that injury this past season, and he played way off of his man a lot as a result. If that’s finally behind him (and that’s a big if) I see him as a solid early 2nd rounder.

i like minnifield in the 2nd
but isn’t he like 27 years old also. i don’t see us taking if thats the case, remember chris weinke! but he does have great man coverage skills
No, he'll be 23 this year.
I think you’re thinking of Brandon Weeden, who’s a quarterback.

Nope.
Cam Newton, when a reporter asks him who will win the Heisman Trophy on Saturday: "I'll tell you Sunday."

ok thanks for the clear up
i saw some where he was a fifth year senior and he was turning 27 this year, but i believe i would rather have minnifield if we couldnt get claborine.to me they are the best to cover corners that are 6ft tall
I think Rivera's west coast roots will mean he'll be scouting teams on this side of the coast more
especially SC, Stanford, and California
