John Fox returns to his old stomping grounds, as the Denver Broncos march into Carolina to take on our Panthers in week 10. While Fox's return to face his old team may warrant some headlines, this game is still all about Peyton Manning's continued dominance and whether or not Cam Newton and these young Panthers can dig themselves out of a big early-season hole.
Due to Fox and Manning hitting the Panthers' home field, ticket prices for this contest currently lineup as Carolina's third most expensive home game of the year, behind only previous battles with the Cowboys and Giants. The average price of $230 is 65% above the average price for Panthers tickets this season. However, prices have dipped a little in the last 24 hours and on the low-end fans only have to fork over $75 to get in and see Manning take on the Panthers. As for Denver, this is actually just their fourth most expensive road game for 2012.
Carolina may be a struggling team looking for its way right now, but Newton still gets fans in the seats, while the hype surrounding a Newton vs. Manning battle is hard to quiet down.
While national pundits might think it is unlikely that the Panthers end up escaping with a win against a veteran Broncos team that has really taken off over the last few weeks, they are at home, coming off of a solid win in Washington, and emotions should be high with the return of their former coach. If they can pull this one out it will be huge win again one of their toughest remaining opponents as they try to turn their season around.
