The Panthers played mistake free ball and avoided the killer turnovers that plagued earlier games. The defense was able to make some stops including a key 4th and inches play late int he 4th quarter to stop a potential Eagles game winning drive. Then once they got an 8 point led special teams finally made a play, getting the Eagles 3rd lost fumble of the night on the kick off.

Exceptional players started with QB Cam Newton. Newton went 18 for 28 for 306 yards and 2 TD passes. He also added 53 yards on 14 carries and 2 TD runs to make his fantasy owners very happy. As I said earlier the biggest stat was zero turnovers.

• WR Brandon LaFell - 3 catches for 74 yards and a TD
• WR Louis Murphy - 2 catches for 65 yards including a key 65 yarder
• LB Luke Kuechly - * combined tackles in the box score I'm reading but he had to have more than that
• S Sherrod Martin - 7 combined tackles; 1 FF; and two passes defensed by my count
• DT Dwan Edwards - Only 2 tackles but one of them was a huge 4th down stop when the Panthers needed it the most
• DE Charles Johnson - 2 tackles and a forced fumble that led to the go ahead FG

Now I could certainly point out some not-so-MNF-prime-time performances but I'm not going to rain on the victory parade tonight.
