Well it appears that our whole 2011 draft is down the drain besides Cam and maybe Pilares, as the Charlotte Observer reported that the Panthers announced today that they have cut ties with Brandon Hogan. When we drafted him, he was coming off an ACL surgery, and we were hoping that he could return to his normal self. Hogan was a standout in the games he played with West Virginia. In the few games he appeared in last year, he showed bright spots, including an instance in which he shoved Texans tight end Owen Daniels out of bounds, resulting in an illegal touching penalty that brought back a touchdown. The only draft picks we have remaining now are Cam, Kealoha Pilares, Zach Williams, and Lee Ziemba, though he is on the IR. I had high hopes for Hogan, but he could just not seem to get fully healthy. Clearly, this was not one of Hurney's better drafts. I wish Hogan the very best in his future and I hope that he can get healthy so that he can continue his NFL career.
