I don't know about all of Panther Nation, but I am getting very tired of Cam Newton. This is his 2nd game out of four where he just doesn't look like he wants to be out on the field. On Sunday when the Panthers took on an undefeated Atlanta Falcons team, Cam started off VERY strong with some nice throws to Greg Olsen, and he even ran out of the pocket for a nice scamper. But as the game went on, Newton's play stayed very consistent! I thought the Panthers just might get an easy Sunday win.
But I was wrong...
The Panthers defense HAS to improve. If they are winning, they need to play the type of defense that allowed them to get ahead in points. They cant just be winning by 14 points and let off the gas! When they were playing on Sunday, and they got a lead, it seemed like the defense was comfortable with only being up by a touchdown or two. They would then let the undefeated Falcons just walk on into the end zone. All I am saying is that the Panthers DEFINITELY need some work on defense.
But back to Cam. He was 15 of 24 with 215 passing yards and two touchdowns. He also had a total of 86 rushing yards.
But late in the 4th quarter when the Panthers needed him to make a play, he let them down! And as soon as it happened, he went over to the bench, put his towel on, and started pouting. Now I understand why Steve Smith said something to Cam in their blowout loss against the Giants!
My whole point that I am trying to get across is that Cam Newton is extremely inconsistent and bi-polar. One game he throws for 300 yards and 1 interception but the next game he throws for 90 yards and 3 interceptions. Also, one minute he will be celebrating and screaming with the crowd. The next, he is over on the bench sulking.
All I am trying to say is this: Cam needs to stop celebrating/sulking and start WINNING!
