Dale Zanine-US PRESSWIRE - Presswire
After three games Panthers DE Charles Johnson was wearing the collar of zero sacks of the opposing QB, the primary thing he is paid to do. After the fourth game he now leads the team and owns the team record for sacks with 3.5. Let's take a look at all four plays
Johnson logged either a full or half a sack in all four quarters of the game. In the Falcons first series Johnson combined with rookie Frank Alexander for a 3rd down sack of Matt Ryan. Watch Johnson bull rush Falcon RT Tyson Clabo whom he abused on all game:
This next one is a nice play as he gets around the OG and jumps to stop Ryan from throwing the ball, unfortunately he gets a piece of Ryan's facemask and gets a penalty. He barely touched it!
This time Johnson decides to take the edge and totally beats Clabo again who barely gets a hand on Johnson as he engulfs Ryan and rag-dolls him to the ground. Notice he leads with the right arm club!
In this last one Johnson gets past a double team to pressure Ryan who, after getting hit all day decides to simply run out of bounds instead of take another one. Johnson still gets in a courtesy shove at the end.
It was a big day for Big Money who earned every penny on this day. Let's hope to see more of that every week.
