ESPN's "Mike & Mike in the Morning" is reporting that Chris Mortensen reports, that JR's reason for firing Hurney was Hurney's hiring of RR as HC. Mort says that JR was against hiring RR, and had to be coxed into it by Hurney. To me, that just seems like CYA from JR, trying to shift blame for this season away from himself. JR signs the checks, and I just can't see him doing anything he personaly doesn't want to do.

Can anyone remember who some of the HC candidates were that didn't get the job 2 years ago? They might de getting a call back soon.

On the Sunday pre-game shows, it was said that Hurney took the fall for JR's meddling. That JR demanded the re-signing of veteran players huge contracts, and sometimes demanded that certain players be drafted (AE).

This might get much louder before long.
