Panthers Listening to Offers for Williams

Jim McIsaac

Darin Gantt says the announcement that Jonathan Stewart will start at RB has the buzzards circling.

Gantt rightly states though a deal is still a remote possibility:

Teams calling Panthers about DeAngelo Williams | ProFootballTalk
Of course, there’s a gulf between "willing to listen" and "able to make a deal." Without a general manager, the Panthers are left with a committee of administrators, personnel men and coaches, and getting the owner to let them sign off on a major decision might be difficult, especially if teams aren’t offering much in terms of picks, or just trying offload a bad contract of their own.

Personally I think a deal will happen. If Williams is not in the Panthers plans then they need to get what they can for him. Why wait until the off season when his value will never be higher right now.
