CSR Monday Night Open Thread - BCS Final Edition
We are used to talking football on Monday nights and tonight's BSC Final is as good a reason as any to keep the streak going. I call it a 'final' instead of a 'championship because in my view if Alabama wins it settles nothing. You can put in the 'Want a playoff of at least 4 teams' camp.
Or we can just talk about the Carolina Effin Panthers, FTW!
This is Now an Open Thread!

First round!
Best player available, no matter position, right?
Maybe if we were Oakland. :p
ACC Championship Member Brandon Thompson is the new Jacoby Ford. You better pick him Panthers or you will be doomed to relive the 2010 season over and over again in the Twilight Zone.

I know its been said a million times
But I love Kirkpatrick’s size and physicality. No complaints at all if we draft him. He’s a stud.

Has there been a blog discussion yet on our 2012 schedule breaking down each opponent? If not, when do you think that might happen?

Interesting first half, though it means nothing
LSU is a tough out. So, who is Tebowed out right about now? ESPN was nonstop today about him.

Trent Richardson has impressed me a little
otherwise its a show of poor offense. I’m not so sure OK St and Blackmon don’t torch LSU or Bama based on what I’ve seen
This game is similar to their first match up
Not too much offense, field goals and stout defense. Though LSU has not played to par.

Claiborne is a sure top 10
but Kirkpatrick is not a solid top 10 guy….most scout disagree on how good he really is
LOL, you are funny to me
They haven’t even thrown at Claiborne. Kirkpatrick has allowed one catch. What did you expect? 35 tackles each and a KO return for TD?

Ive been more impressed with Upshaw than Dre K or Claiborne to be honest. Im really starting to think we should maybe go WR in the 1st round afterall more and more.. I honestly think at this point, we could take defense in the 2nd round and come out with the same quality as if we drafted 1st round..

Ingram was a 1st round pick, Richardson a great backup. Richardson will be a 1st rounder this year, with Lacy a great backup.
Will be interesting to see if Lacy busts out and goes wild next year.
That was horrifically bad.
I came into this game thinking that (almost) no matter what happened, I’d still have LSU at #1 at the end of the game; actually watching it made me think otherwise. I don’t think it’s even a split championship, Alabama deserves an undisputed championship. After this game, I wouldn’t even rank LSU number 2. How do you come into a national championship game and play so poorly? Did they just never practice? Did LSU’s players show up drunk?
Split championships are for wussies anyway.
Next we’re going to stop keeping score so that the other team don’t feel bad.

It's easy to keep a team from gaining more than a 100 yards...
of total offense, if the opposing quarterback is Jordan Jefferson.
I really hate LSU
1) They raped GT in the Chick Fil A bowl in 2008
2) They share a state with the Aints
This is a perfect example of something I've been saying for 10 years
You can’t make a football team not play a game for well over a month, and come out and perform like they did week in and week out.
They need to revamp the Bowl season. It’s just too long between the final game of the regular season and the big Bowl games.
You're forgetting that they are busy studying for their exams...
during that crucial time period.

Not really..
Hardy has potential but you never know. Applewhite is a FA, and I don’t trust Keiser as the 3rd DE
Panther Pride 'till I die.
Yeah. But you have to admit we have much stronger needs.
Once you put your Gamecock fandom to the side and look at the needs of the Panthers, they just don’t have a place for him in the 2nd round. Maybe we could get a DE in the later rounds, but right now it’s not a pressing need. Now if Ingram was a DT, I might think differently.
