This would be pretty cool
But I doubt it happens…
One question though, You feel comfortable going in with Captain as our #2 Corner?
by rscott94 on Jan 24, 2012 8:33 PM EST via mobile reply actions
I dont know how i feel about captain but i just really hate to push certain players down the depth chart
like fua, mcclain, munnerlyn, laffell and gettis
Hmm what trade value does both Mike G
and Jimmy Clausen seriously have? What position will Courtney U play in a 4-3? Jared Crick could be had in the 2nd round. I would be in shock if Zach B was avaialable in the 2nd round. Mare is guarantee to much money to be cut. The bengals aren’t going to trade both 1st round picks when they need help at guard and db.
by adam carter on Jan 24, 2012 8:41 PM EST via mobile reply actions
Jimmy and mike probley have what i posted now but maybe we should wait till after
the preseason to see if it goes up any
i think the bengals will trade with us for our 1st rounder and next years 3rd so they can get richardson
Upshaw i put if avalable and i have him playin standup pass rusher in a 3-4 and OLB in 4-3 but i doubt we draft him
maybe we should take brown with pick 21 and crick in the 2nd round
The Bengals probably won't trade with us.

Jaxon: At #9 the Panthers are on the clock…Trent Richardson is still on the board [or insert other name] the Bengals phone rings…your #17 & 21 straight up. You doing it?
Sent at 10:05 PM on Thursday
Jason: Nope. No way. The Bengals still have a lot of holes to fill, especially in the secondary and on the offensive line. If they moved up to grab Trent Richardson and lost one of their first-round picks in the process, it would be a huge mistake. There wouldn’t be much of a point of having Richardson if the offensive line couldn’t block for him and the secondary couldn’t stop any team from passing on them.

i think you have no idea how unrealistic these are
1 Walsh is not an improvement over Mare
2 Mare has to much guaranteed money to cut
3 AE isnt making much money, there is no point in cutting him
4 TD is getting a new deal
5 (A) Upshaw sucks, (B) Kirkpatrick wont be available at 21
6 Brown wont be available in the 2nd
7 Fleener wont be available in the 4th, beside we are loaded at TE anyway
8 we dont need anymore QBs
9 Nicks would cost at least 8 mil per season
10 The Bengals wouldnt accept that trade
11 the most obvious cuts are Baker and Hartsock, we could save 2.5 mil for cutting them
I wanna be the very best, like no one ever was
ill put it in order
1 cheeper option than mare though
2nothing to say to that
3 AE SUCKS
4 i hope so
5A) said if available B) Again
6read my coment above about crick in 2nd brown in first
7 he could fall and jeremy and gary are FA that jus leavs olsen and Heartstock
8 trade Jimmy DA is a FA
9 thats why we adjust steve and stewerts contract alnong with cutting davis
10 maybe maybe not but im not the first to say its possible
11 who would be our punter then and we would have to draft a TE with barnige and Shokey being FA and i dont think the team wants to bring back Shockey
Hope this clarifies
-Barnidge signed an extension
-AE is in his 2nd year of a brand new position, it wouldnt be fair to expect him to be good yet
-We would essentially be trading Jimmy for Davis (I’m an ECU student, not a good deal)
-still way to much money for a position that isnt a need, if we have money we need to use it on something else
-The team DEFINITELY wants to bring back Shockey and we would draft a punter (at least 3 of the rookies would be better and significantly cheaper)
I wanna be the very best, like no one ever was
1 didnt know that
2 you dont feel like davis is more like Cam then jimmy (ive never really seen davis play i just wanted to put someone besides russell wilson)
3 are you talking about carl nicks or davis
4 ok maybe ron rivera just didnt want to talk about it during the season because every time someone asks him about it he talks about how much he likes barnige
5 id be fine with that i dont like baker anyways
1 didnt know that
2 i dontt see tht much ptential with AE
3 you dont feel like davis is more like Cam then jimmy (ive never really seen davis play i just wanted to put someone besides russell wilson)

6 id be fine with that i dont like baker anyways
Devis has the athleticism
but he’s not a good passer and he is very inconsistent. i was referring to Nicks about being too expensive.
I wanna be the very best, like no one ever was
Your roster puts us at 47 players, 6 fewer than we need
Good thing we cut AE and TD though.
And the rest of this is really unrealistic. A Bengals fan was here recently and said that there was absolutely no chance the Bengals give up both their firsts. Most of the draft picks you listed would have to fall farther than expected for us to get them where you mentioned.
Ok so I highly doubt Pickles is worth a 5th. And no way someone gives up a 4th for “Fumblitis” Goodson.
A 9th for two first round draft picks? You better hope Mike Brown is drunk on draft day to pull that miracle off…
How do you expect to sign TWO first round draft picks, Jonathan Stewart, Carl Nicks, and Laron Landry with the little cap space we have now?
And I’d rather have Brockers and a good CB in the first round than another LB. Fills more of a need.
Stewart alone is going to get a big contract that will put us tight, even with cutting/restructuring players.
Carl Nicks is expecting to be paid Top 5 Guard money.
Laron Landry might be greedy in free agency. And we have the rest of the draft picks.

I know Washington is desperate for a QB but they aren't stupid...well to an extent
They will retain Beck and Grossman, maybe trade one of them and draft RGIII

Why cut Armanti, and not cut someone who really does nothing, Eric Norwood?
The Armanti hate is so extreme that people don’t realize that there is a person who is more worthless on this team.
I cant believe everyone isnt calling for Hartsock to be cut
he has a 1 million dollar salary next year. it’s a no brainer to me, same with Baker
I wanna be the very best, like no one ever was
He got a few snaps on offense later in the year when Shockey was out.
I like to think of myself as a one-man wolfpack.
We have Olsen Barnidge, and Hartock under contract
and yet people want us to draft a TE. I want us to resign Shockey, but i also think we should cut Hartsock, he is making to much money for someone that doesnt play
I wanna be the very best, like no one ever was
I have a feeling Barnidge could turn into Shcokey 2.0.
They seem to have the same speed, and Barnidge seems to make a lot of plays when given the chance. I also think Barnidge has better blocking then Shockey, due to the fact he spent two years in the Fox regime where a TE HAD to block.
I would say Shockey is definitely a better blocker
but Barnidge is very athletic. although he hasnt played in 2 years
I wanna be the very best, like no one ever was
This is pretty crazy. And if the Panthers could pull it off, they still wouldn't make the playoffs.

completely disagree
I’m confident we’ll make the playoffs. We have enough talent already on the roster. Discipline and mental mistakes cost us more games than a lack of talent. We cut back on penalties, turnovers and giving up punt return TDs, and we could win 3-5 more games than last year. We’ll also have an easier schedule. I think we’ll make the playoffs, but we don’t need to make all these moves, which I agree is pretty crazy, to get in.

I don't disagree. We have a lot of talent on this roster. But the NFC as a whole is very talented.
You’ve got the Lions, Bears, Giants, Eagles, Cowboys, Falcons etc.. all competing for 2 Wild Card spots. I’m not sure this Panthers team knows how to win/finish games on a consistent basis, and that skill might take some time to cultivate. It’s not impossible, but its far from for sure.

The Bears lack an offense that can put up enough points to get to the playoffs consistantly.
Their only weapon is Matt Forte.
When Cutler was on, the Bears were solid on Offense.
I believe they were something like 6-2 before Cutler went down.

I agree it'll be tough
and the Cardinals could join that group as well with a legitimate QB. The good news is one of those 3 teams from the NFC East has to win the division (unless you think the Skins will) and I feel like the Falcons are ready for a mild decline. They have a good front office so they will bounce back quickly, but they have a lot of important FA’s & they just seem like one of those teams that have been JUST good enough to make the playoffs the last few seasons but haven’t been able to put it altogether (doesn’t help that they have so few draft picks this year). If what I said didn’t make any sense think of the Vikings & the Jets. Two good teams for years that routinely made the playoffs but were unable to maintain that level of play.
"One step at a time"
Agreed about the Cards and the Falcons.
It’ll be nice seeing them in the bottom half of the divisional standings (For however long that lasts.)
