Russell Wilson As Our Back Up ?
Guy i just have a good feeling about this guy to me it seems he fits our system perfect
Every one knows Cam takes alot chances and hits and gambles quit often on plays more often then not. Our Backup is Derek Anderson and he can't and run our offense the way Russell would if he was our back up. He's a red zone threat to run to keep the defense modest and accuracy is a strong suit of his arm strength may be a liability but good upside from this kid. Anderson can't break the pocket for the first down when the blits come on third and long hes young smart willing to work hard and to be honest if Cam Newton leaves and its a small small chance he does the offense won't miss a beat because we have a guy that can be a factor. We can still keep Anderson as a Vet Pro Bowler but Wilson we could maybe get in the 3rd if we trade up that round. I know to some people this may sound crazy but its a steal in the if you asked me because hes not getting as much attention as he deserves as a QB. His undersize will hurt his draft stock and 5'11 but i think its worth the thought. He can't be more of a waste of pick then Jimmy Clausen how was just GARBAGE to be honest and scared to take chances and really didn't have any confidence. Its just something to thing about guys and check out some of his games he's a solid guy we could bring in with an offense easy to pick up and thrive in help from Cam

I think Mr. Anderson would do fine
No body in the world has Cam Newtons skill set and i think Anderson did a good job when he played for Chud. He is also very happy where he is and helps Cam with alot of things. Thats one thing that Wilson doesn’t have is experience.
No way would we trade up to get him
We really don’t need a new backup QB. And no way would we trade up for a guy that probably wouldn’t see the field for years. Maybe take a flyer on him in the 6th round or so, but definitely not in a place where we can pick up players that can immediately improve our team. And no way should we give up draft picks for him.
Im Just Sayin
Russel is the better polished QB in throwing nobody has cams skills but Russell will keep the offense from missing a beat. Some of Newton biggest plays were outside the pocket Anderson can’t do that Russell has a better chance of keeping the offense going
Bingo.

how much u know
Armanti didn’t lead the lead the NCAA Passing Efficiency Amanti didn’t play the competition that Russell faced Amanti played sorry teams the only good thing under his belt is a win against a sorry Michigan team so KILL THAT NOISE
Statistically, Case Keenum should be the #1 overall pick, not Andrew Luck.

At Least Keenum Is 6-1, 210 & He's Small For An NFL QB, It's Shame Wilson Isn't Bigger

You mean that sorry Michigan team that went 9-4
And beat a Florida team featuring Tim Tebow and Cam Newton in the Capital One Bowl. That Michigan team was sorry. And you can argue that Russell is benefited by having better players around him than Armanti did.
But this is not an Armanti debate. We shouldn’t draft Wilson unless he’s by far the BPA in a very late round.
this is who they played

Can you name a QB in the last 50 years, other than Doug Flute, who was under 5-11, as a starting NFL QB?
Name all the great starting NFL QB’s from Wisconsin.

I don't disagree, PR.
But Wilson is a NC State guy, not a Wisconsin guy. I mean he spent 5 or 6 months in Madison.
I like to think of myself as a one-man wolfpack.
I can't see the point in drafting him unless it's in the 5th round or later.

MISSIN MY POINT
Guys i think yall missing my point in this im not saying reach for em but team has a knack for injuries and anything could have and we have to have a guy that can runit the same way Cam can or Impact on the game GB Matt Flynn where he fit what there doing or they have a guy that fits there scheme in the offense im say that Anderson doesn’t fit our Scheme the way Russell would

No, I got your point. I don't think we should draft him before the 5th round.
And you saying trade to get back into the 3rd round is asking the team to reach for him.

I think you are missing the point of commas and periods.
But I digress.
You are asking the team to reach for a player that we basically already have on the roster, so I say to you… no thanks.

I can get on board with this. If he's there in the 6th, I'd take him.

Or backup QB is not supposed to be a clone of our #1 QB..
The backup QB is someone who manages the game and doesn’t turn the ball over AKA Andy Dalton… Just kidding. Derek Anderson is a great backup QB, no way we trade up to get Wilson, who will probably fall to the 6th or 7th round
Just my opinion but I think it’s important to have at least one veteran QB on the team and I don’t know how i’d feel with the combination of Cam Newton, Wilson, Clausen/Edwards
CAM....CAAAAAAAAM
No.
Derek Anderson will do an acceptable job running the offense if Cam goes down, and it would give Cam another year with a veteran tutor as his backup.

If we trade up into the third round
To draft a third string QB I will be pissed.

i think this is a hugh error in thinking
You can’t think that way in terms of "system’. It just doesn’t work that way. Either he can play or he can’t. Can you picture Russell Wilson projecting the football down field in a 2 minute drill on the road at New Orleans?.. i can’t. I love Russell but he is yet to develop into the type of player than can be successful in the NFL. With all that Tebow has done he doesn’t have a lock on his starting job like most teams moving forward with their qb. Just because everyone knows that in todays game you need quarterbacks that can project the football at all levels.
I don’t think Russell is anything more than a project. I don’t think he is instincitive enough as a passer at this stage to be draftable…. this is not a testimony to him being bad. This is based on the number of quarterbacks that are better than him at this stage… just my opinion.
actually
I think his instincts are a passer are his strongest attribute. Dude barely through interceptions and had really high completion rates.
Wisconsin QB's Usually Have High Completion Rates (70%+), It's The Offensive System
by PanthersRoar on Jan 26, 2012 4:56 PM EST up reply actions
Wilson's stats make every other QB Wisconsin has had look pedestrian
over 3000 yards, 72.8% completions, over 10 YPA, 33 touchdowns and only 4 interceptions in over 300 attempts. I’m not saying anything about how he’ll do in the NFL, but saying it’s just the system isn’t giving any credit to a pretty damn good college QB

Panthers interviewed Wilson at the Sr Bowl
Doesn’t mean they’ll draft him, but there’s some level of interest
Local favorite, those guys always at least get the courtesy of an interview.
But who knows… might be more.
