Giants Super Bowl berth pushes Cam into the Pro Bowl
I am curious about how "alternate" status is logged. Now that he will play, will he hence forth be a "pro bowl quarterback"? Would he have been if he stayed home as an alternate? Not that it really matters, but late in careers it comes up as part of justification for various awards like MVP or HOF. Yeah, I am on the bandwagon. :)

Just an FYI
No, there is not an asterisk for an alternate who is selected. One could go back and determine who is there as an alternate, but there is no designation made afterward.
I like to think of myself as a one-man wolfpack.
Just to follow up on ERL’s post, even if Cam for some reason decided not to play or couldn’t, he’d still be accredited with Pro Bowl status and considered a Pro Bowler.
So Cam, one Pro Bowl down, 10 or so more to go. :)

No....what we don't understand is why you reply to him the way you do.

I have to say...
That this was the main reason I wanted the Giants to win yesterday. =) Can’t wait to see Cam in Hawaii. Spending some time working beside Rodgers and Brees couldn’t hurt any QB.
Yep. I'm a female who religiously follows a football blog.

Me too, and I had been pulling for the 9ers since the playoffs began until I realized Cam would go if Brees, Rodgers, or Eli made it to the Super Bowl. And you’re right, Cam spending time with those 2 can’t be a bad thing. I like our pro bowl quarterback!
THIS IS (not) THE YEAR!

Does anyone know when the last time a rookie QB went to a pro bowl was?
I honestly have no clue.

But wasn’t it Vince Young?

I think you're right.
I can’t think of anyone since then. Ryan didn’t make it in his rookie year. Neither did Stafford, Sanchez, or Bradford (I know; I’m reaching).

ugh...now I may have to watch the Pro Bowl.
At least for a few NFC offensive series, anyway.

The AFC is very weak at QB. But please accept my back-handed congratulations, Andy.

that’s why i wanted the ravens to win so bad much the same way i wanted the giants to win.

I have long hated the Pro Bowl becuase a preseason games means more than it does.
Nevertheless the nod it gives to players whom have shown themselves worthy of being considered the best is an honor or the player and team. LoL just imagin how many TD Cam can get when he is not allowed to be sacked.

*for the player and team
Is the QB allowed to run in the Pro Bowl?

Doesn't this mean...
Cam is about to be coached by Jim Hardballz?
Should be…interesting to say the least. Also looks like the whole working out through the superbowl is going to pay off for Cam. Glad to see it, I know Stafford had a HELL of a year, but Cam deserves this honor, too. It’s not all about just raw stats. Stafford also threw up 500 yards and what, 4 or 5 TDs against the backups in Green Bay in week 17?
And the Lions don't run the ball...ever. Look at yards per attempt.
I like to think of myself as a one-man wolfpack.
Well...they did run the ball against us. :-(
Of course, errybody else did too.

Don't say it's not all stats
Because then the Andy Dalton supporters come in
& I honestly think Stafford deserved it over cam. I love our QB but Stafford had a hell of a year, getting the stats and the wins
CAM....CAAAAAAAAM

i actually think its the packers coaching staff
I’m pretty sure chris mortensen said its the packers and the texans coaching staffs that are coaching the pro bowl.

I'm excited
Cause you know he’s gonna be in Rodgers and Brees’ ears all week trying to learn more.

congrats to Cam for making the pro bowl
but watching it makes me nervous because i cant think of anything worse than getting a player hurt during the pro bowl
This is part of my reasoning for wanting the 49ers to win yesterday.

Lol.
You can’t even hit anybody in that game.
