For Cam Newton fans I loved him on film. Transitioned to NFL in unexpected way. Pocket QB. Made difficult throws. Only way to be consistent. ... Did not run unless it was only option or designed play call. Stood tall in pocket, Threw with bodies around him. Impressive. ... Chance to be special. Had some bouts of inaccuracy. Result of poor footwork + weight transfer. Can be corrected with coaching.

Which is exactly what he did this year. I don’t disagree with that opinion at all. He should play like his career depends on it, because it does. In no way is he, or many other people for that matter, a lock to make the team.

You think he hasn’t worked hard up to this point? Thats the problem. You got it or you don’t. Hard work when it is do or die time is for lazy freaks to prove themselves when it matters. Not for projects that were drafted to imitate Joshua Cribbs. There is nothing exceptional about Armanti Edwards. I am sure he will continue to work hard but i doubt results will change. He is a below average project slot receiver in a league full of slot receivers that are far from exceptional but are not projects that never played the position until 2 years ago.
I could come up with a very lengthy list of players
who made rosters (and made huge impacts) based on hard work alone. I could come up with 4 or 5 Carolina Panther fan favorites to start with.
